The old Cooney films are interesting in that they show evidence of his weak chin. Against Dino Denis, very late in the second round, Cooney's knees are buckled by a right hand. Another old film against someone -- I don't know if it was Broderick Mason or Malik Dozier -- shows Cooney badly rocked by a power punch.
Interestingly, the print media of that era never reported that Cooney had been hurt by these second and third rate foes. I guess media felt obliged to play its part in concealing Cooney's vulnerabilities, to boost his efforts for a big cash out fight.
