Joshua wants easy fight after Ruiz

Post by oogiebe »

Boxing Scene:

When asked during an interview session with a group of reporters if he’d give Ruiz a rematch, Joshua replied, “No. I’m gonna fight some guy from the pub. That’s what the heavyweight `division does, isn’t it? I said, ‘Why am I fighting all these solid contenders? I’m going to fight an easy fight after that.’ ”

Reminds me of his complaint about not wanting to go to war anymore after the Klitchko fight. He's not a very bright fella I suspect.

Fury yes. Wilder of late, no. While I get your point, it doesn't mean that AJ should lower his bar rather than keep it up where it belongs regarding opponents. My main point in posting this was it makes me wonder further about AJ's heart as it relates to being a boxer.

I think his heart and determination are stil in the game , or he would'nt of chased the rematch so quick , its not for the money. Also think the comments would of been made more has a skit at the others , than actually meaning it

It was reminiscent of his comments after the Wlad fight.

he’s joking obviously - Josh does actually have a good sense of humour....Anyway he’s not going to be thinking about any fight but the next one, without doubt the biggest fight of his life.

Or Fury and Wilder fought each other! Tyson beat Wlad in Germany, that is bigger than anything AJ has ever done.

I never said AJ is a mental wreck. I'm just sharing what I think are interesting commentary by the ex-champ. I wish AJ would just shut up and get on with it. Fact is you come to his defense everytime something negative is said about him. You think he's mentally ready for this? I don't know if he is or isn't, but his comments are very curious to me. :TU:

It's a bit hard to shut up and just get on with it when you're contracted to do 75 press conferences and 291 interviews. He was obviously being sarcastic and it wasn't very funny but he had just gone from Saudi to the USA and London in a couple of days so y'know, I'd be sarcy and grumpy too

He's obviously joking, no need to go the mentally ruined/finished route on this qoute. There's plenty of other material to work with apparently

And you've already said you think he's finished, plus all these AJ quote threads, so I do think you believe he's mentally wrecked?

Is he a bit thick, do you think? Does he not see fighting Wilder in LA whilst not match fit and shitting yourself on a ring walk against Ruiz are two totally different things?
Tyson is finally in a position to rinse the networks. Just like AJ did when he was ppv in a British title fight.

Because that what Joshua said during the interview. You don't need to be columbo to figure this out.

Pretty clear it wasn't taken as a joke in the first post though, it was apparently another portent of his continued mental downfall!

He said it. He has said a lot of wierd stuff. You can say he was joking or sarcastic all you want. I liked him better when he kept above that sort of thing.
