So now that both Ortiz and Joshua have a chance at revenge this year: Ortiz in his Wilder rematch in November, and AJ in his December return with Ruiz, who has the better shot at getting revenge? Remember, Ortiz is seen and respected as a genuine dangerman, to anyone, while plenty of fans say Joshua has no chance in the return with Ruiz, that he was “exposed” in June.

Both Ortiz and Joshua had their moments in their sole losing fights; Ortiz wobbling and coming close (some say) to stopping Wilder, AJ decking Ruiz. So in no way can a revenge victory be written off for either fighter. Ortiz might be older than dirt, or older than George Foreman’s shorts (the 1970s pants), and Joshua might be viewed as a fighter who has a serious chin and stamina problem, yet both the Cuban lefty and the British orthodox puncher have one thing in comnmon: they can both whack with the best of them.

Wilder had a far tougher time in subduing Ortiz than Ruiz had of taking care of Joshua, and it might prove to be the case second time around. So to answer – a Joshua revenge win would be a bigger upset than an Ortiz revenge upset. Agree or disagree?

I guess, Joshua is a favorite, so his win can't be defined as an upset. However, I'd pick Ruiz to repeat.

I have a feeling Ruiz will be one of those fighters that has achieved all he could hope for and he loses his hunger similar to buster Douglas so I don't see an AJ win as a upset

There might not be so many votes posted to this poll, but it’s kind of surprising to see Luis Ortiz being regarded as a bigger underdog than Anthony Joshua is, considering the fact the Cuban was far more competitive against Deontay Wilder than the Brit was for his bout against Andy Ruiz Jr.

I kind of understand the logic though, it’s been 18 months since the Cuban veteran faced the American and the mainstream masses seem convinced that AJ’s loss was either due to a fluky lottery-winning punch scrambling the Brit’s senses or because there was "something" physically or mentally wrong with Joshua that caused his loss.

According to Paddy Power, Luis Ortiz has only been given a 20% chance to score the upset over Deontay Wilder.

In stark contrast, the same betting website shockingly rates Andy Ruiz Jr. as only having a 28.6% chance to successfully defend his titles against Anthony Joshua (with the Brit considered the 76.9% betting favourite).

Therefore, I guess the title and the poll in this thread should really be changed to become “The Bigger Upset? Ruiz def. Joshua | Ortiz def. Wilder”, because Cuban’s and the Mexican’s betting odds are very similar at the moment.

Of these two Ortiz beating Wilder would be a slightly bigger upset. Neither really would be much of an upset though.

Hmm, Not sure Ruiz is that delicate of a psyche flower. He may have gotten lucky, but my guess is that he will remain steadfastly determined, and very serious. Those guys are not cut from the same cloth. Ruiz is hard as nails in terms of his professional attitude, Buster was always a bit of an emo.
