It has to sell as well. Del Boy can sell, take this thread as an example.
He's popular, how many ppv buys is 2 or 3 internet pages worth? Isn't there a much larger thread about prograis/ Taylor?
So what? Eddie knows the deal. He works with Del Boy. It’s a show. Del Boy brings punters and he knows it. Eddie also knows it. Plus this thread is not about Dereck vs Joe, it’s about a comment made by Del.

Man, I am so much more interested in Chis vs Parker now because of Chis's press conference grumbles about his placement on the bill

"He is always full of surprises," Parker told BBC Sport in Las Vegas.

Chisora told American Prograis and Scotland's Taylor that "no-one cares" about their fight, with the London-based fighter - who has been fined for throwing a table at a news conference in the past - walking off stage after airing his views.

"It was the first thing I saw when I woke up on Monday morning," said New Zealand's Parker, 27, who is training in Las Vegas.

"Dereck is Dereck, he can be calm or crazy. I thought as of late he was a lot calmer as a person and fighter but then again, the switch is there.

"I think there is a time and place. Of course him and I can be a main event if we were on another card. He brings a lot of support and fans, I have been fortunate in gathering a lot of fans from the UK too. But you can't really take away from the guys at main event.

"Those two guys are undefeated and fighting to unify belts and it's not our job to tell the promoter what to do. We have a say but ultimately accept where you are."

JimJim2009 wrote: 09 Sep 2019, 13:15 He has a good point. Eddie has just snapped up this wbss final. Fair enough but he's putting it on sky.box office ppv and that's not been the place for it. Wbss purses are significant and I can see delboy's argument although without actual purse figures I suppose we're guessing. Delboy is being used here to draw back existing sky box office punters who've paid out for box office events in the past. Delboy is part of that and usually gives the paying punters a good show, win or lose. I can understand how and why he wants a better deal. It's not like Joshua or even whyte is headlining. The wbss final is a great match but as Eddie is so fond of saying it's one for the hardcore purists and sky box office shows aren't based on that they're based on a wider appeal.
Great points here Jim

Im sick of these ppv shows, chisora is no way a ppv star nor is parker, they have been beaten opponents on ppv shows doesnt mean they are ppv as for th wbss no one outside of boxing will know what this is or who is in the final. Put it this way i will not be putting my hand in my pocket for this show.

I think he has a point. Whilst I always see a world title fight as more important, irrespective of weights - without Chisora vs Parker this would not do well on SBO in my opinion. That fight is the reason why its on Sky Box Office.

So when Chisora said, make me main event or give me more money - I can see his point.

Ali vs Bonavena played second fiddle to one of Buchanan's world title defences at MSG, if The Greatest can support in a routine Heavyweight clash then so can Chisora

Will it do well on Box Office? I know I won't be buying it and I can't imagine many casuals will be getting excited about it.

Probably not but I think all above may be missing the point slightly. I absolutely agree with everyone above saying this ain't PPV, Chisora ain't PPV, fighters think they're PPV when they're not and the whole PPV situation being BS but!

Sky Sports have decided on taking on this Ali Trophy and they've probably insisted on it being PPV as per previous shows on PPV ITV. Smith probably really wanted the Ali Trophy but knew Taylor would sell about 7 buys (yes, I know it's a great fight between two top fighters but no one knows who they are) so they've thrown Chisora on to increase buys. In that case, he's right

That'll probably change over the next month or so, with Sky Sports/News harping on about the fight every 5 minutes. Two unbeaten fighters in a unification will appeal to casuals, even if they've never heard of the fighters.

Josh has alienated a huge number of casual fans in Scotland with his Hibs rants. He should be a national hero. Even half of Edinburgh won’t like him.

That’s where he’s messed up.

I find it a bit ironic mind that 2 fights ago Chisora was allowing Allen vs Browne to be main eventing.

Although I stand by the view that as far as EH is concerned - there would be more of a chance of Chisora vs Parker being PPV with a crap undercard than Taylor vs Prog with a crap undercard.

If you want to use the notion of Chisora being of quite similar standing to Whyte - Parker is much more of a name than Rivas.

Chisora's not a main eventer. He loses against Main Event caliber guys. Always has, always will.

Chisora is totally irrelevant. Feel dirty just posting about him.

Hope Parker outclasses him in a frightfully boring 12 rounder that drives Twitter made.

Ken tells a good story about sharing a dressing room with Ali. According to Ken, he got some chalk and drew a line on the floor, one third of the way up the room then pointed to the smaller section of the room and told Ali, “That’s your side, this is mine”

Don’t care if it’s true or not, Ken tells it well

But that fight don't mean nothing there is only champion that should be between fury v wilder . but iam boxing fan at heart .so I want to see the best of the best in the division face off. I also think Taylor will be the next big British boxer has everything for me

Plodding journeymen like Chisora don't usually get to call the shots. His amusing "antics" are just a distraction from the fact that he's not very good. I hope Parker puts him in his place and then Dubois knocks him out of boxing for good.
