The Team AJ excuse Factory
Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
It's weird to try to spin "He got concussed during the fight," as an excuse. First of all, that's believable. Second, it doesn't do a good job of absolving him as an excuse. It's pretty much like saying "Yeah, Ruiz totally knocked him out." That's an excuse?? The only thing that might excuse him of is if his skills and tactics seemed to precipitously fall downhill after round 3. But getting a concussion isn't an excuse for losing, it's more like an admission of losing.
I think it's a serviceable excuse if you did something objectionable post-fight like take your glove off and punch somebody. Then it's like "Hey, why'd you do that?" and you're like "Well, first of all, I was blacked out. So you're gonna have to ask blacked out me why he did that."

I agree, bizarre to pick out this comment as some laughable excuse. Can someone explain how it is? Did his trainer say AJ was concussed by a foul that was unfairly not penalized, or that he suffered some of a kind mystery phantom concussion that didn't come from Ruiz?Lackeos wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019, 12:23 It's weird to try to spin "He got concussed during the fight," as an excuse. Does anyone really think it's totally wacky to think AJ was concussed?

Don't see how that's at all an excuse. Basically saying Ruiz punched AJ into a concussion in the 3rd. WOW! Huge excuse!gilgamesh wrote: ↑12 Sep 2019, 11:43 So I saw this now. His corner saying he was concussed from Round 3 onward. Very plausible, but still it strikes me as a "The Hits just keep on coming" type situation.
One excuse after another. How many have there been now?
Not a rhetorical question. I'm looking for actual numbers here![]()
Maybe some posters just love to nag about every little thing AJ's side says?

Me too, there's a lot of false narratives about Joshua's excuses, sure his fans have made their fair share but that's only natural when a fan fav gets beat, as for AJ himself, he's always gave props to Ruiz, even seconds after getting stopped he was gracious and accepting, people are using non excuses to batter Joshua over the head withmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019, 14:30 Still curious how this is an exucse

Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
AJ and co are in a no win situation here as speculation was rife about all sorts of things " not being right " against Ruiz .margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019, 13:31Don't see how that's at all an excuse. They then denied them all and gave credit to the winner in a respectful manner .
However the rumour mills continue to spin and generate all sorts of PR and other stuff " click bait stories " etc etc
Then to help promote the rematch both fighters and camps give some interviews and talk about what happened in MSG and of course about the rematch itself ..
Seems to me that some people just have a negative agenda towards AJ / trainer and to a degree Hearn , is this because they are British maybe ?
Or is it just a classic " pissing on a parade " scenario
Maybe some boxing fans would prefer that instead of being respectful and polite AJ should run off at the mouth all the time like certain other HW fighters or behave like an animal towards opponents or perhaps attack people outside of the ring like many fighters have done in the past and today .
I will round off by suggesting that he is still going to get negative comment no matter what happens in the rematch and beyond .
Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
I would have preferred that AJ stuck to his initial response. He said he wanted to rematch right away and in NYC where the even occurred and right the wrong. Not that the location matters to me, but his attitude on the response is what I like a fighter to have. The rest is all bvllshvt to me.stevec@france wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019, 15:14AJ and co are in a no win situation here as speculation was rife about all sorts of things " not being right " against Ruiz .margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019, 13:31

Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
McCracken has walked back the concussion comments today. He said he's 'not a doctor,' as he was taking some blowback.

Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
Lol blowback for what. It was hardly an offensive comment and it wasn't an excuse as all to say Ruiz concussed his boy.
It's bizarre that people are calling it an excuse, and of course still without explaining how it is.

Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
To answer your first question, there was some 'outrage' by some organization for brain trauma and others who felt he didn't have AJ"s health first by letting him continue.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019, 19:25 Lol blowback for what. Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
Given the risk of concussion all boxers face in every fight, it could be argued that no trainer, promoter or even fan ever has a fighters best interest at heart as we all want them to give and take blows to the head.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019, 19:32To answer your first question, there was some 'outrage' by some organization for brain trauma and others who felt he didn't have AJ"s health first by letting him continue.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019, 19:25 Lol blowback for what. Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
Just relaying what occurred. I'm in no way surprised at the injuries sustained and realize I love a sport that is unkind to the participants. You make a good point.
Re: The Team AJ excuse Factory
Say what you want about AJ, but at least the guy had the balls to fight the same guy that KO'd him. Fury doesn't have that kind of courage....regardless of how much he runs his big mouth.
