Remembering Darren Sutherland today on his 10 year anniversary. Still a very hard one to fathom.

Such a shame we never got to see him fight Degale in the pro ranks to try avenge that defeat in the Olympics.

He did indeed but his defeat to Degale in Beijing was on the global stage. Would have loved to see them square off in the pros.

I think Darren beat him 4-2 as an amateur. I thought it was an incredibly classy gesture to have Darren's name on his shorts and mention him after winning the world title.

Darren was a lovely guy; very thoughtful, self-contained and self-sufficient. Hearing about his death was a real shock and he is still missed!! I think he would have done well as a pro. He had excellent timing and threw punches in combination and was strong.
