Big John has had his nose pushed out, or at least that is how it looks to me. He's been making subtle and not so subtle comments aimed at Davison and Fury fighting in the US for some time.

In no fight did McDermott win five rounds. If you gave him the nod, fair enough, plenty did. But that 'robbery' (the most overused phrase in the sport) was nowhere near as wide as history makes out. I had fury winning the first two and the last two of a ten round fight, with a few middle rounds where it was who's style you liked. McDermotts shots certainly looked the most spectacular no doubt, but five rounds I can't agree on.
I thought McDermott won the fight by a few rounds. The score that fckin ogre Terry O’Connor gave was abysmal.
Yep. That’s exactly my take. Fury was clearly beaten and I remember reading after that Fury (by his own admission) hadn’t trained and literally wasn’t fit enough. And honestly, it showed in the fight.

McDermott was robbed in my opinion. It also transpired that referee Terry O’Connor was an ex-fighter and had previously been beaten by McDermott’s dad, who was also the trainer for his son on the night of the fight with Fury.

I thought Big John won and it showed wFury's true level. Even in the second fight I thought McDermott was ahead.
The reality was that it did Fury good, he really seemed to knuckle down after that, and in no small part that was due to Peter.
Also it showed the way to beat Tyson, gotta stay close and make him work, easier said than done of course.

All these excuses as if Fury didn't give his best. Yeah he did. He's just flawed. His flaws showed, and they show a lot.

I still believe it was simply the cut that altered the whole fight. And to happen to early in the fight it was unfortunate. But that’s boxing and even so, Fury won the fight clean. Fury isn’t a guy that’s stops most opponents, he’s a guy that usually goes the distance. Wallin have a good account for himself. Respect to him. But Fury did what he normally does and that’s get a clear UD win.

The Schwarz stoppage might have gave people the wrong idea about who and how Fury usually fights.

Wallin didn’t know what it felt like to lose before this and unlike Schwarz, he gave it everything and still got beaten.

Too be honest . I' sort of agree with the dad ,, i don't think anyone knows Tysons capabilities and body has well has his dad , with maybee Peter as an exception , I'm not all that convinced about Davidson either , and i don't think Tyson is either , hence bringing Roach into camp and now the mexican guy ,,

Ben is a good talker loves giving interviews but i think its a real good case of the fighter making the trainer here , The Wilder fight , well it was a good one but that was Tyson doing what Tyson does and always done , under both his dad and Peter ,, the next two fights has there been an improvement , don't know i've not watched them , but from all accounts the answer is NO ,

Watched an interview , where Davidson is trying to take th credit for reading the fight what it was gonna be like , and preparing Tyson for in fighting ,, well i do have a news flash for him ,, when you have a guy fighting someone who is a lot taller , longer reach , and likes to move away all the time , you have one choice and one choice only , close him down , cut him off , and fight inside , , so i can't see how he can take credit for reading that and preparing for it , thats his job , its not visionary miricle work , you know its what there practicing and what there gonna do . You can safely say there not gonna run away , and try to out jab him , .

Regards the weight issue , his dad says he needs to be heavier , well you can certainly add to that , Tyson is not a devastating puncher and that little bit more weight combined with the correct training could definetly make him a heavier puncher ..

Its been mentioned that maybee John feels he's had his nose pushed out of joint , that maybee the case ,, But i do agree with him on Davidson , he has not done his trainers apprentaship , and learned along the way , , he's fell into the top job and just stating the obvios , definetly a good talker , loves the camera and high profile , but for me its being carried along by Tyson just knowing what to do after being in the sport for so many years ,

Ben is a yes man , thats obvious , and Tyson has decided he wants yes men , to all give a group hug , and say a prayer before the fights , something i think is aimed at the middle class americans has he's trying to gain the support of yanks and sell himself there , .. He also like to take videos of the dancing in the change room with all the ass lickers , dancing around with him .

Alls i can say its lonely at the top

He was around the same weight when he fought Wilder.. maybe 2 pound difference. No issue with his weight. And i’m Sure he was lighter against Wlad.

I think it was simply the cut which changed his performance. He still had some dominant rounds.

He weighed heavier against Schwarz. I think Fury is decent anywhere between 250 to 265..
He looked in better condition for the wilder fight though. The weight might have been similar but his body composition looked different for that fight. This fight it looked like he was carrying more fat.
Any difference was marginal and to be honest I thought the opposite for what it’s worth. People still get too hung up about athletically about HW’s, do long as he’s got a good engine and is living clean with a balanced S&C programme and a varied cardio routine he’ll be ok. I’m not necessarily saying he has all that (I wouldn’t know) but I wouldn’t get too hung up about a six pack on a 18/19 stone man

I score it a draw and I’m sure I watched it back once and did likewise. It wasn’t a robbery in the sense it was a very close fight however the scorecard was appallingly bad

That's how I scored it, but wouldn't argue with anyone who thought McDermott shaded it. As I said, his shots looked more spectacular. But it was by no means the one sided fight people portray. I watched it after reading the round by round on here and thought 'have I clicked on the wrong fight'. I've always thought that when fighters do find these massive heavyweights, the punches can look more effective than they actually are.

Except when Fury fought Klitschko, and his dad was involved in the training, he was 247lb. He was 254lb against Wallin. I don't remember his dad having an issue with his weight then.

Like i said , could be a case of big John feeling his nose has been pushed out ,, But against Klitchko he was'nt a big puncher either . Do have a feeling he, just like Hugh has had it ingrained in him to avoid getting hit at all cost , and spent a lifetime moving and moving , sitting down on big shots just does'nt come natural to them , I think if he went with an American coach they would certainly give it a crack at a bit of weight , correct training for heavy hands , Its hard to hit hard when your moving backwards trying to avoid getting hit , The size of the man he should be hitting a lot harder tyhan he does ,, although i would'nt want to be on the end of one of his digs

Fury doesn't plant his feet, as you say it's hard to get weight and power into shots when you are moving. That style is his most effective, I think if he tried to stand and trade he would just get himself into trouble. Anyone that size hitting you will hurt but he's never going to be a devastating puncher.

To be fair Tyson was a young pro, he'd only had 7 fights at that stage and went into a British HW title fight against a more experienced McDermott who was 25-5. It was a combination of poor training and lack of experience.

To me Fury looked sharper, was hitting harder and moved much better in the Wilder fight. The last two performances havent been anywhere near as good. He needs that fear factor to really perform and these types of fights aren't doing much for him.

I worry about that cut but hopefully it heals and Wilder (x2 apparently) and the winner of Ruiz v AJ are all on the cards for next year.

I’m a bit bored of this narrative now. How is he better for being fat? I can remember when Solis popped his leg against Vitali and everyone pointed out that It wasn’t healthy carrying all that fat on your upper body and that it put pressure on your body training. Tyson’s got tits on his back! He was in much better shape in the past and can get back into that shape, but now he’s not 30 stone anymore everybody seems to be happy. He’s a mess and probably still eats all sorts of shite and boozes.

This is what he used to be like when he fought bums though which is why we all wrote him off against Klitschko.

watched a bit of it last night and it was evident Fury`s performance was under par compared to when he fought Wilder .
maybe a bit of arrogance and under estimating Wallin who knows .

But nothing there would suggest he can get the belts back ..

And top rank constantly calling him the " champ " in the commentory is plain ridiculous he holds no belts !

It will be interesting to see what weight Wilder comes in at in the rematch. He has said before he wants to be around 240lb in the rematch !!

Do most still think he would do a job on Ruiz ,, i'm not so sure , Ruiz can work his feet and thats the key against Tyson , good enough footwork to catch up , cut down the ring , and let them go , and remember Cunningham dropped him

Tyson has to keep him long and fight at his pace.

If Ruiz can stay inside and maintain the pressure it will be very interesting

18 stone for a bloke who is 6 foot 9 is not heavy.

I don't get how a professional athlete who trains every day, with his height/weight ratio can look so flabby and shite

(yes, I know it is not bodybuilding etc. before anybody says) - but surely his body composition should be better?

A lot will be loose skin now, anyone going upto 30 stone and then losing a load of weight will have that, not a lot you can do about it

Yeah but his physique has always been the same

Just like Hughie, Boomer and Frankie Gavin - they all look like they have been made out of play dough

I just don’t get how it is possible - especially as they must have natural sporting talent and you would expect this to translate into their body composition
