Light Heavyweight scene

Post by Cent0089 »

I understand all spotlights in 175 division is on quartet Kovalev, Gvozdyk, Beterbiev and Bivol. But what about other boxers? Eleider Alvarez, Jean Pascal, Joe Smith, Badou Jack, Sullivan Barrera, or Ramirez Hart duo, who recently moved up to LHW? Are they scheduled to some fights? :box: :box: :box:

There is also Maxim Vlasov who recently moved down from CW.

Unfortunately no one of these mentioned is scheduled to fight.

In fact, only 1 out of 4 title holders is an ethnic Russian: Kovalyov - Russian, Bivol - Born in Kyrgyzstan, father from Moldavia, mother Korean from Kyrgyzstan, Beterbiev - Chechen, Gvozdyk - Ukrainian.

It ain't gonna go too good for Pascal the next time he fights. Last time he pulled off an upset win felt like the last time. Because it all came down to perfectly placed counter shots, but he was losing every round other than that. I can't imagine he has the timing needed to pull that off too many more times in his career...if ever. At least not against that level of competition.

Most fighters would've adjusted too I think. Browne couldn't.

I have thought that Pascal should retire after his Kovalyov fights, he got the upset vs Browne but i can't see him defeating any other decent opponent. Browne imo should have one loss prior to that fight, vs fringe contender Radivoje Kalajdzic.

I hope that nobody will came out with a idea of matching Pascal vs the Gvozdyk-Beterbiev winner.

Pascal might come up with that idea

He doesn't shy away from the tough fights, that's for damn sure. But somebody looking out for him needs to shy away from them for him at this point.

Pascal should take some decent domestic fight in Canada and retire. Maybe against Eleider Alvarez? He is also canadian based

Woukd like pascal to take it easy now going into retirement and earn a few quid against soft opponents. Hes had a free pass from me years ago with his record of hard fights.
Not the best but he's one hard man and knowing him he will take another hard fight instead of the easy ride.

Bivol is my number 1 thought and I'd love him to fight canelo :bag:

He almost certainly will take one of the hard fights.

Dan Rafael recently on Twitter praised fighters that in his mind "Haven't avoided any top competition" and he mentioned Pascal. Pascal retweeted it, thanked him for it, and said "This is what Boxing is about"

So I get the feeling he's still gonna be chasing the top dogs.

I really wish people in the higher positions would match these guys with more consideration, but they know that the general public doesn't keep up with where they're at, and all that. They just know that more people probably have heard that name before.

If he is not going to retire, I'd like to see Pascal testing some prospects like Buatsi, Abdugofurov, Meng or Stępień, but i hope he is not going to fight top 10 fighters, never mind the Big 4 of the killers from the East.
