Otto Wallin
Otto Wallin
After his surprising performance against Fury - who would you like to see him fight ?
I am thinking Dubois / Hunter / Hrgovic / Yoka .

Yep, Arreola/Stiverne/Kuzmin are about his level.
Re: Otto Wallin
I'd like Wallin to face Oscar Rivas or maybe even Adam Kownacki. At the very least David Price should be a possible option.
Re: Otto Wallin
Wallin should fight Hrgovic.

Re: Otto Wallin
Usyk will toy with him. Parker beats him easily. The guy is not on that level.
Re: Otto Wallin
Arreola is the perfect test for Wallin. Why throw him into a fight that he likely loses. Give him something winnable that gets him valuable experience. Arreola fits that part, deserves another payday, and could beat Wallin..

Would like to see him vs Joyce, Hrg, or Dub
or maybe Rivas or Kownacki

Re: Otto Wallin
He fought like a #8-10 guy against Fury. In reality he's probably #15-20. If you want to see him in a totally 50/50 fight, then he should be matched-up with other guys in that ballpark like Joyce, Hunter, Kabayel, Hughie, Hammer, Breazeale, Hrgovic. Before he steps back up, if you want to see him get a highly probably win and a solid test, then he could be matched with Kean, Kuzmin, Szpilka, Helenius, or Price.

how do we define his level ?boxing_rocks wrote: ↑17 Sep 2019, 22:14 Usyk will toy with him. Parker beats him easily. The guy is not on that level.
Fury is / was supposed to be a top 3 guy ( although I dont agree )
And wallin stayed with him for 12

Re: Otto Wallin
So? Fights go 12 rounds all the time. The Schwarz fight misled people to think Fury always finishes his opponents. Truth is, he isn’t one to always finish his opponents.stevec@france wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 03:40how do we define his level ?boxing_rocks wrote: ↑17 Sep 2019, 22:14 Usyk will toy with him. You are probably right, he would've been a better opponent than Spong though.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑17 Sep 2019, 22:14 Usyk will toy with him. Parker beats him easily. The guy is not on that level.

Who cares, he's a total bum.

Re: Otto Wallin
First Fury was carrying him, and then the cut changed everything. Besides, Fury is not a good offensive fighter.stevec@france wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 03:40how do we define his level ?boxing_rocks wrote: ↑17 Sep 2019, 22:14 Usyk will toy with him. Parker beats him easily. The guy is not on that level.

Re: Otto Wallin
Fury bout was tough. After such fight he should face someone about gatekeeper level. Arreola, Washington, Helenius, whatsoever.
Re: Otto Wallin
That would have been an entirely one sided fight without the cut.
And even with the cut (a double major one) it went twelve.
Wallin could develop into a solid mid level fighter but he will
never be a top guy. So, find him any mid level guy and let
him have at it.

Watching the fight I couldn't help but be reminded of "Rocky 4" .....boxing_rocks wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 09:30First Fury was carrying him, and then the cut changed everything.stevec@france wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 03:40

Commentator : "He's cut! He's cut! The Russians cut, and it's a bad cut and now it's Rocky Balboa coming after Ivan Drago"!
Rocky's trainer : "You've got him hurt bad. Now he's worried ... YOU CUT HIM, YOU HURT HIM! YOU SEE?!? HE'S NOT A MACHINE, HE'S A MAN"!

Re: Otto Wallin
Yeah, somebody that can be a solid test. A fight with Helenius would be good in a Scandinavian context since Swedes and Finns love to puck at one and other.

Re: Otto Wallin
I'd book him vs Samuel Peter and have Helenius fight someone on the same card to get a victory and them match them up afterwards in their neck of the woods. He has a name now...Sam Peter is whose necks and has a name there for fighting Helenius and being a former champ. Decent name value scalp with almost no risk while also a decent name for building the next fight with Helenius. His name value has skyrocketed all over but it has to be even hotter at home. He could bring down some good bucks in those 2 fights. I think Helenius would be a tough one though. Enough money in it though to take that risk.
Re: Otto Wallin
Helenius ain't tough anymore. He lost to Gerald Washington recently.Kronkpride wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 18:56 I'd book him vs Samuel Peter and have Helenius fight someone on the same card to get a victory and them match them up afterwards in their neck of the woods. Your suggestions of who he should fight seem like you quit watching Boxing in 2010 or something. Peter and Helenius aren't Top 20 anymore. Probably not Top 30.
