Has this ever happened before? Heirs to the throne of Great Britain attending a boxing match?
Both princes attended a white-collar boxing show in London yesterday. It was a Real Fight Club show (Alan Lacey's promo group) and I turned up there for work (I was helping out behind the scenes) and lo & behold there they were sitting on a table!
Also, I have never seen so many elegent women in one place before. I almost keeled over!
I was kept in the dark about the prince attending, but when I arrived, the paparazzi were there (you usually get celebs there anyway) and I got in and there they were. From what I saw of them, they had a rip-roaring time. The fights weren't pretty to watch but these toffs certainly know how to fight.

Don't know about the gloved era BOXINGMAD but it is well documented about their involvement in the bare knuckle days. They not only followed it but in some cases they sponsored fighters and bet obscene amounts of money on fights. Of course the problem then was that the loser would try to apply pressure in parliament to have the sport outlawed, succeding at times.
Well, judging by the looks on their faces in today's papers, they seem to really get into it. As both lads are in the army (William is still at Sandhurst) boxing could feature quite prominently in their working lives, as the sport is a big deal in the forces. Not many officers box though.
The thing that I like is that the white-collar boxing is more heavily regulated than you might think. That's why I'm involved with it. It's safe for anyone to do really, and I certainly don't think that age is an issue. Not when you see the likes of George Foreman & Larry Holmes duking it out as oldies in the USA. From reading Boxing News, it looks like the ABA is getting on the bandwagon, as they've had a number of WC boxers competing on their shows - in particular the Repton.
