I'm curious to see what Crawford and his promoter will do? TR has no top match for TC. They need Spence.

Time is ticking and TR has to do a move with TC. What other welters they have in their stable to match TC? Alvarado, Egidijus Kavaliauskas, Besputin, Brian Mendoza? lol

The fight needs to happen! :box:

Not going to happen. Your cock eyed optimism is admirable but at some point in time you're going to have to acknowledge there are different promotional companies and TV networks.

So do you think TC is happy with not getting no top fight at 147 lbs and wait to age? He's 32 y/o. It has to happen in 2019 or 2020. His legacy would be like "what if?", if he doesn't fight the best from his generation (Spence, Porter).

It'll only happen if they think they can make a huge PPV out of it. The problem is that PBC can already make a huge PPV out of Spence vs Pac without Arum's involvement.

I think Crawford is exactly that type of boxer, who will be still at his prime in his late 30s and maybe even at 40.

Crawford is awesome but no fighter is in their prime at age 40. Not even HWs.

I would like to see Crawford vs Porter first. Porter deserves another big fight.

If Arum would keep match him against his stable stiffs, then TC could look in his prime even at 45.

Fury is slated to fight wilder
Kovalev is fighting canelo

Cross promotions happen. The money has to be there and the fighters have to demand the fight. Spence is using bs about crews POV numbers
Next they will offer brawford a bs flat fee that morons will say he should take. We e seen this play out before

Gotta be close to zero chance Arum will let TC fight anyone in the PBC stable other than Spence or Pac. A fight against Porter would be huge risk with minimal reward.

For a champion in a major division, Crawford's apparent lack of ambition sure is irritating. Where would his career be right now if that opportunity hadn't fallen in his lap to beat palooka Jeff Horn for a welterweight belt?

(Note: Of course Jeff Horn could beat me senseless in any kind of fight whatsoever. I'm just calling him palooka because I still resent the idea that he beat Pacquiao, and because it's a fun word.)

I doubt it's TC's lack of ambition. It's just the reality of the promotional side of the sport.

Also, even though I think Pac beat Horn, he didn't really beat him much more soundly than he beat Thurman. So you have to give Horn some respect.

Im not that optimistic really.
I just think back to Zurdo at SMW, wondering when they would run out of guys who weren't named Smith, Groves, or Eubank or anyone with a belt or the WBSS. And they didn't. They even recycled Hart.
40 fights and no unification, then moved up. They could easily do the same with Crawford. Bud sells in Omaha, low risk,.money comes in regardless.

pac was just 10 times more motivated and trained 10 times harder against thurman than he did for that overrated australien.

pac in peak shape arguably beats any ww right now and is p4p top 3 material.

The fight needs to happen! :box:
The current 147lbs top-dog within the PBC stable is Errol Spence Jr. who has beaten the likes of Kell Brook, Lamont Peterson, Mikey Garcia and Shawn Porter at welterweight.

Since he’s been affiliated with the PBC, Manny Pacquiao defeated Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman, with Mikey Garcia being lined-up as his next opponent.

Meanwhile, Errol Spence Jr. will probably face Danny Garcia next, with a view to eventually engaging in another title unification bout against his fellow PBC stablemate, Manny Pacquiao.

If Errol doesn’t face Garcia next, he’ll likely fight Yordenis Ugas instead.

Who is Terence Crawford likely to face next and has he become an utterly irrelevant name on the welterweight scene, since he's achieved very little at 147lbs and is unlikely to engage in any marquee bouts for the foreseeable future?

I bet Bud is regretting recently renewing his contract with Top Rank! He's made his own bed and now he has to lie on it!

It seems highly likely that Terence Crawford’s career will inevitably tread the very same path as his fellow Top Rank stablemate, Gilberto Ramírez. And if this happens, Bud probably won’t receive an opportunity to engage in a marquee PPV bout against Errol Spence Jr, since fight fans will probably start losing interest in him.
