Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter tracking over 300k buys
Re: Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter tracking over 300k buys
None of this guys haven't even broken into the mainstream like Leonard or Hearns for that matter.
Then they would do, MayPac numbers, and that ain't happening. Boxing did lose many fans after Ali among other things, the list is long.
Might bring in money over seas and such, but England is the biggest consumers of the boxing market. Have no clue about others like Russia, Poland, Germany, Japan or China for that matter.

Ftr, I hope you're right. That's the only way it happens. I don't think it ever will.
Re: Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter tracking over 300k buys
Checked the PPVs Crawford have been in. Ain't good numbers, about 225k buys in total.
And, Crawford is high risk as F*ck to anyone.
It is a dream match for now, if this guys don't break out or something.

Crawford ppv numbers alone are irrelevant just as golovkins were
It has everything to do with the matchup.

Re: Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter tracking over 300k buys
Canelo did 1m buys versus Chavez Jr. and 900K versus Cotto.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑01 Oct 2019, 11:39That's what I say.. Without GGG, Canelo was doing what 500k or less..Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑01 Oct 2019, 11:32 A fight with Crawford would do 1mm buys very easily.
Ggg never had much for ppv numbers either. When matched with canelo they did monster numbers
So it's like saying without Crawford, Spence is going to sticking around 300k buys.. The most money he will earn will be against Crawford.
GGG wasn’t asking for a 50-50 split, but Bob Arum is demanding one for Terence Crawford.
Bud’s average PPV buy-rate is 100K. And that’s something that should not be ignored or swept under the carpet.

Understood. Cotto was a huge name anyway and did good ppv number's prior to this.. Also the Mexican-Puerto Rico rivalry..Enlightened-One wrote: ↑01 Oct 2019, 13:45 Canelo did 1m buys versus Chavez Jr. and 900K versus Cotto.

Also, the Chavez Jr. was an all Mexican Showdown, and was heavily hyped..
Same thing applies, he needed a good name in front of him to keep it up.

Spence isn't canelo and Crawford isn't cotto. Not exactly apples to apples.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑01 Oct 2019, 14:03Understood. Cotto was a huge name anyway and did good ppv number's prior to this.. Terence Crawford is supposedly facing Egidijus Kavaliauskas on the 14th December.
Is anybody excited to see this bout? Does anyone think it’ll do big ratings?
Would Errol Spence Jr. be criticised for facing an opponent such as the anonymous Lithuanian?

You know what. I can’t even remember his name. It just came to me now whilst I was typing. Ocampo.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑01 Oct 2019, 15:30 Nobody gave Errol poo when his mandatory was even less known. I always like watching Crawford.

Lol, I couldn't remember it either. I kept thinking osuna or Ochoa. You can't always count on eo to slam his foot in his mouth when he starts crusading against fighters like GGG, kovalev and now Crawford.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑01 Oct 2019, 16:11You know what. Does it excite me? No, but as mandatories go, we've all seen worse.
Is it a better opponent than Carlos Ocampo (possibly even Lamont Peterson, by the time Spence fought him)? Yes.
Is he better than Porter, is he the type of opponent Crawford should be aiming for, or does he enhance his record in any way? No.
It is what it is. I don't see either side allowing Spence vs Crawford any time soon. Not enough money in it, yet, for either side to want to take the risk. Sad.

Re: Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter tracking over 300k buys
Multiple sources have informed Boxing Scene.com that Spence-Porter probably will have produced approximately 275,000 buys, based on initial projections from cable and satellite operators. Spence’s first FOX Sports Pay-Per-View appearance – a unanimous-decision defeat of Mikey Garcia on March 16 – reportedly generated about 330,000 buys.

No idea.. Arum actually came out yesterday saying it did 175k, whilst admitting Crawford-Khan did 125k buys..margaret thatcher wrote: ↑03 Oct 2019, 13:32So what was with the 350k stuff thenRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑03 Oct 2019, 12:52 Multiple sources have informed Boxing Scene.com that Spence-Porter probably will have produced approximately 275,000 buys, based on initial projections from cable and satellite operators.
