I think dissapointment is the best way to sum him up.He must have known for a long time he couldnt make that weight.I admire his balls for actually turning up to be weighed though,could have got nasty.

Don't think he was cheating, he just can't make lightweight anymore. He was strugglimg to even make LW!! Should have said something sooner, reather than leave it till the eve of the fight.

I dont think he was cheating....... i dont know him or his camp personally, so i dont know there mindsets, but i honestly believe that Castillo intended to make the 135lb limit but simply found out that he could not.

I think it was highly irresponsible of him and his camp to leave it until the weight-in though to notify the world that he was 5lbs over!!!!!! I also think that they could have notified Corrales's camp two weeks out, or even a week out informing them that he was not going to make the 135lb weight and could the fight be made at a catch-weight.

Highly irresposible, but not cheating imo.

i reckon he knew for a long time he couldn't make the weight but went ahead anyway figuring corrales would take the match at catchweight and he'd knock him out again.

legally it's a clear breach of contract and i would have thought it's gonna cost him a lot of money, unless he can pass on the suit to his trainer or promoter or something.

i also feel sorry for all the people that would have planned a little holiday around the fight - can't see hotels and airlines refunding punters just coz castillo couldn't make lightweight!

missing by five pounds is ridiculous - LW aint even gonna be easy for him by the sounds of it.

Something between the two really, neither angel nor devil, stupid more than anything, shouldve realised that he couldnt safely make 135 again and not agreed to the fight... but then how many fighters out there are playing the same game and losing the last bit of weight at the last gasp... Cotto, Morales... theres quite a few of them I'd say, Castillos luck just ran out...

I agree with that.

David Haye is a prime example and could easily find himself in Castillo's position. Well, maybe not exactly, i doubt he would come in as much as 5lbs over :P (for a lightweight that is just rediculous!!!)

As Ali said he has obviousely known for some time he wasn't likely to make the weight in that instance he should have let the Corrales camp know. If Diago had trained for a different weight then a catch weight fight would be fair enought and less dangerouse an option. Thats why I voted Cheater, he had the problem but didn't do anything about it.

Couldn't he have done a Scot Harrison just this once? He doesn't seem to put on as much fluid as Harrison does though.

i just think his body cannot withstand the abuse of boiling down to 135 anymore. he's a big guy and has had gruelling fights at featherweight (late 90s) and lightweight. not letting someone know in advance was downright stupid, but not a calculated attempt to cheat . not only with all the financial penalties & the fact that team corrales said they wouldn't take the fight if he weighed over 135. but also, i doubt how much of an advantage he would've had. looking the way he did, i doubt very much he would've gone into the fight looking like superman. even if they agreed to a 140 fight in advance, Castillo could've been dead at the weight. it's a big wake up call but he should've woken up weeks ago, or before the fight was agreed to. Castillo, get a fornicating nutritianist
