Very impressive from Walsh - he looks better than ever after a shaky start and wearing trainers :maybe:

Impressive from Walsh I liked him tonight, after a few recent average performances he was back to his best, Socarras looked like a bit lively early on , looked as comfortable switch hitting as Walsh but Walsh showed his class throughout, a lot of clever punch picking, the right hooks from lefty worked well and got the finish, scored a nice knockdown in the 5th with the left hand, ropes keeping Socarras up

Similar scenario at the finish as well, ref went to score another knockdown before deciding leave it, luckily Walsh took care of things, that was a bit amateurish

Wasn't scoring 'cos it looked like Wood had this in the bag.
It's evening right up, isn't it ?

Terrible stoppage. No idea why the ref dived in there

"no idea" is a bit harsh.

A tad too early, but you must have SOME idea.
Joyce was stunned several times, was miles behind and he just kept coming (great stuff :salut: )

Brilliant again from Wood, I'm not fussed about that stoppage, Joyce might have still been game and willing and in his defence he always looked strong and even a bit dangerous at times but really he was totally outclassed in all areas all night, youd have thought it was Wood who was thr amateur stand out, the quality of his punching was levels above Joyce who looked a bit basic, just strong and game , he did land some clean punches but Wood took them all no sweat

He switches effectively, can lead off and counter effectively.and is an intelligent boxer, textbook left hand for knockdown in early on, big right for second KD and at the finish landed a sweet right hook, Joyce was gone, he might have been able to punch back but right call IMO

Liked tonight, every fight better than the last

I thought it was ok - Joyce looked near done to me, and had taken lots of punishment tonight.

Sorry guys I disagree. Yes he was hurt, but he wasn't senseless, he deserved a few more seconds (in the 7th he defended himself well when buzzed hard). I've just watched the replay and I think it was very early. Wood was a deserved winner, but Joyce had fought his way back into it somewhat (3rd to 6th rounds).

Happened right in front of me. I thought it was a legitimate stoppage. I was surprised his corner hadn't already retired him as he was not in the fight, it was the sort of fight where the last few rounds could have been dispensed with and saved him some damage.
