For someone that HAS been Robbed in the past. I’m gonna cut GGG slack. He deserved a close decision.

Bizarre to me that people are talking robbery. It was a close fight that could have legitimately been scored for Golovkin

It's normal for people to cry robbery when the A-side fighter wins a close decision.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑06 Oct 2019, 00:04 Bizarre to me that people are talking robbery. It was a close fight that could have legitimately been scored for Golovkin

I know he was hurt to the body, but wtf was it with GGG not cutting the ring off like he normally does.
Re: Gennady Golovkin vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko - 5 October 2019
He didn't have to cut off the ring from what I saw. Chenko was right there in front of him trading it up.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑06 Oct 2019, 00:08 I know he was hurt to the body, but wtf was it with GGG not cutting the ring off like he normally does.

Buffer or Golovkin? I think it might be both.
Always sad to see a great fighter past his best and going so close with someone he would’ve beat years ago. I don’t wanna see the third Canelo fight now, maybe a retirement fight or something but he could still leave with his head high now.

I was referring to Buffer btw.

Re: Gennady Golovkin vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko - 5 October 2019
Golovkin after the fight: “I want to say thank you so much to my opponent,” said Golovkin. “This was a great job. I respect his team. I told you, he’s a very tough guy. This is huge experience for me. Right now, I understand I need more. Focus is boxing. This was a tough fight. I need a little bit more. I need to still get stronger in my camp. Just more serious. I need to work hard. I need a little bit more focus."

114-113 and 115-112 twice for Golokvin, in a fight that many will say that Derevyanchenko may have won. Personally, I had it 115-112 for Golovkin, but he looks very vulnerable at this stage of his career.

Derevyanchenko's 230 landed total punches and 183 landed power punches were the most by a GGG opponent in 25 of his fights tracked by CompuBox.

Don’t think it was a robbery but one of the judges scoring round 10 for Golovkin is flat out wrong. That was the worst round of his whole career imo. He got beat up badly but took it like a change and claimed the 11th and 12th.
Just noticed the same Judge Lombard gave the 11th to Dev. Looks like he was quickly trying to minimise the gap. 11th was a clear Golovkin round.

Can't see how GGG got that. 115 to 112 for Sergei for me.

I thought Jacobs beat GGG, but no idea to me how so many acting like this was some clear Sergey win and a robberry and not a real close fight that could've gone to GGG fairly. I mean, Derev did great but he still got dropped, his face totally busted up, and he was getting hit plenty himself. Not like Jacobs-GGG, where GGG could hardly land a powershot
I thought GGG came back from a rocky 10th to win the last 2 as well. I can't buy that giving him 6 rounds takes robbery

Depends who you classify a robbery. For me if you don't get what you should have got you have been robbed.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑06 Oct 2019, 02:26 I thought Jacobs beat GGG, but no idea to me how so many acting like this was some clear Sergey win and a robberry and not a real close fight that could've gone to GGG fairly. My opinion is that GGG lost the fight by a clear 2 rounds. Thus Derevenchenko was robbed of his victory
Close fight? Yes. Great fight? Yes. Should GGG have got the decision? Not in my opinion
Thus Derevenchenko was robbed of the world title in my opinion
Robbery for me doesn't have to mean you win by 10 rounds and still not get the decision
I imagine 70% of people watching that fight had GGG as a loss or a draw at best.
Hats off to both guys, but GGG is clearly on the slide now and Canelo would likely finish him off now.

Some idiot judge have GGG 7,8,9 and 10
How is that possible? 10?

114-113 Golovkin was right IMO. Tough night for him, Sergey was brave as they come and is a big test for anyone.

The time is perfect for BJS to take on GGG.

Re: Gennady Golovkin vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko - 5 October 2019
Really enjoyable fight I thought Golovkin deserved the win, I had it 116-112 but there were a lot of close rounds that I could have gave to Deravyanchenko, it looked like we might be in fir an early night after the knockdown in the 1st and the bad cut but kudos to Derevyanchenko he got up and took the fight to Golovkin, hurt him to body several times and had Golovkin looking as troubled as ive ever seen him, a few of the left hands Derevyanchenko sunk into the body had him backing up and visably hurt
I thought Golovkin edged a fair few rounds with his quality, he got the last word in a few of the exchanges in the close rounds, some nice uppercuts through the middle on the inside or the looping right hands caught the eye, I thought his jab was poor as was his defence, Ive not read through the thread or seen anyone elses views but I wont be surprised if some had Derevyanchenko winning as he won a lot of the rounds bigger and brought serious pressure and looked great in spells, effing arseholes booing Golovkin at the end though, that pissed me off

^ This.
I had the knockdown winning it for him but there was a real "Lion in Winter" thing about the whole affair, especially late on.
Watch Clenelo decide to meet him at a catchweight after Kovalev, though—I bet he was on the phone to Eddie by the 10th round: "I've changed my mind! Set it up!"

Apart from those that decided to boo him.
