Another boxing robbery?

Post by imaioral »

GGG was quite visibly beat by Derevyanchenko, whom as say his nickname, gave a very technical performance with many behaviors like Lomachenko style (whom I bet gave some classes to Derevyanchenko as they are friends). He was way better than 3G in many ways, such as: pressure, footwork, defense, dodge, combinations, punching accuracy and volume.

* The KO seemed to even being a KO as Derevyanchenko slipped/was off balance.

GGG on the other hand, brought a maximum of a 40% of the ggg we all know. He was slow, with poor combinations, predictable patterns, terrible defense, dodge and footwork. Just showed a great chin, overall body resistance and heart to keep fighting.

It was an interesting bout, but it showed us that GGG is different, rusty, he wasn't as before after the loss to "Anadrol/Dianabol junkie woodpecker" and possibly need to retire, I like him but his era IMO is over.

* Compubox showed that Derevyanchenko clearly did 34,5% more power punches then GGG's (183 x 136), and its one of the 4 main requirements for judging (Hard and Clean Punches*, on the other 3, Derev was better too), and thus GGG wins? C'mon, it's a damn lie...

My personal scorecard.

Round 1 GGG
Round 2 GGG
Round 3 DV
Round 4 DV
Round 5 DV
Round 6 DV
Round 7 GGG
Round 8 GGG
Round 9 DV
Round 10 DV
Round 11 DV
Round 12 GGG

Final = 114-113 (7 rds vs 5rds)

Fans could say sh1t defending GGG because they don't think and analyse the sides impartially, but the real thing is that GGG lost, against facts there are no arguments.

The fact that you had it 114-113 says it was a close fight.. media had it split. Stop throwing the word robbery around every weekend.

Why give rd 11 to dev and rd 12 to Golovkon which was the much closer round. Golovkin has a clear rd 11 win.

No idea to me how so many acting like this was some clear Sergey win and a robberry and not a real close fight that could've gone to GGG fairly. I mean, Derev did a great effort but he still got dropped, his face totally busted up, and he was getting hit plenty himself. Not like Jacobs-GGG, where GGG could hardly land a powershot

I thought GGG came back from a rocky 10th to win the last 2 as well. I can't buy that giving him 6 rounds takes robbery and I did have him ahead. I am not some GGG nut boi either.

To me Jacobs still did better vs Golovkin points wise, though obviosly Sergey was a more grueling fight for G

Eh, both close fights. Don't see how any could be called robbery save for Canelo 1, which I believe you score for Canelo, which completes this endless circle.

Not a robbery. Close fight but GGG definitely deserve the win.

Cynical, nostaglic about the "good ol' days", ranting about everything, fanboyism, pettyness and more.

Boxing is great when it is done right, lets say that we got a great fight. But still somebody gonna rant about it.

Im watching the fight now. It is a high pressure fight and both guys are going at it. GGG looks fresh for his age and takes care of himself outside the ring. Dev is also very solid, and showed again he belongs in the top of the div.

Seen half the fight, and yeah it is one great scrap. Might be a bite better then Spence-Porter.

I had Derevyanchenko vs Golovkin 114-113, could go either way, it was closest and hardest than any of GGG's fights so far imo, i had GGG-Jacobs, GGG-Canelo I, GGG-Canelo II 114-113, 116-112 and 115-113 respectively.

Yeah, another robbery. Golovkin was robbed against Canelo and now ironically he was awarded a victory. It was a quite clear Derev's win.

Seriously though, if you fixed your 11th round you'd have it 114-113 GGG.

...let me just remind some of the fans that in very close fights there's no such thing as "this is MY score and I'm OBJECTIVE and because of that that's the ONLY possible outcome", - that's nonsense at its best imo.. :o ..This fight was razor close I believe and could go either way...

The OP is not even capable of creating a poll correctly - he asks one question in the thread title and the opposite question in the poll. That makes me doubt about his intellectual abilities in general and ability to score a fight in particular.
