Ben Fields takes another 0 last night.

Post by jonp »

Ben Fields light welter from Birmingham continued causing more upsets on the road last night.

Liverpool was the place.unbeaten Nathan Bennett the opponent and Ben did what he did last saturday turn up on the other guys turf and keep punching till the other guy isnt unbeaten anymore.

Great guy to work with and shows that you can win away with the right attitude.(Ben is unbeaten in his last five all away and all against unbeaten fighters)

Hes got an English Eliminator in Nov v Lee appleyard and hes going prepare properly for this one as hes taken a lot of fights at late notice as you expect,The Kane Gardners and Andy fleming wins were at less than 24 hours notice (Kane was actualy the afternoon of the fight the second time.)

Good luck to the lad.

This is actually a good example of how fooked up domestic boxing is.

In 17 fights, 13 of his opponents were unbeaten as pros.

The lad he beat was 7-0 but he hadn’t even boxed anybody with a winning record never mind an unbeaten record.

Nice one, Jon, and many congratulations to Ben. He's doing it the proper way, learning his trade, and fully deserves this. It reminds me of Paul Wesley's British title shot at Robert McCracken or Freddie Pendleton winning a world title - losses can be good things if a fighter learns from them, and Ben clearly has. Hope he keeps it going.

its actually quite refreshing to see boxers with his attitude , taking fights at short notice and then winning on the road.
I’ve seen Fields on a few occasions and win or lose he usually takes it to the home fighter

It’s also quite refreshing to see the promoter involved invite the winning away boxer back on his shows to properly test his own fighters .
if I’m not not mistaken that’s the third or even fourth ViP promotions fighter that has lost to Fields so well done Steve Wood .

Congratulations to all involved. :box:

Not taking anything away from Fields but Bennett had got to 7-0 by fighting a collection of guys, most of which had never won a fight. So is this that much of a shock therefore ?

Which is partially why it's so satisfying, to see the pretenders found out

Its more the fact Nathan was a top class amatuer and Ben was a self confessed recovering addict who did white collar to give him self something to aim for than there actual pro records.

I love to see the away fighters getting the win on the road. Keep up the hard work and keep on winning. You will always get the nae sayers saying "its because this or because that" mate just win and keep on winning. i wish i got the same opportunities but hey u never know i will be back in there soon enough 🥊
