Ya he should be facing the world's 218 Brayan Mairena
Re: Josh Warrington vs. Sofiane Takoucht - 12 October 2019
If that is right, then that is really very poor.
I see a little pattern emerging where Warren and Hearn are both struggling a bit, trying to match some of their world champions including Warrington, bjs, Callum Smith

Before this Warrington's 3 opponents were Selby, Frampton, and Galahad, doesn't seem too much of a struggle, this is just a classic 'stay busy' fight that pretty much every champ capable of holding onto a belt has.
Re: Josh Warrington vs. Sofiane Takoucht - 12 October 2019
True and I certainly hope I’m wrong. I love how Warrington has burst onto the world scene. I just had hoped after a dour fight against Galahad that Warrington would go big with his next fight. But I accept that the politics and nature of the sport means that not every fight can be a 50-50.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 Oct 2019, 15:36 Before this Warrington's 3 opponents were Selby, Frampton, and Galahad, doesn't seem too much of a struggle, this is just a classic 'stay busy' fight that pretty much every champ capable of holding onto a belt has.

The whole card is poor in general. Warrington just ticking over waiting for a big fight in the states.

Frank can’t get guys in that division - not enough ££££ on offer.
Valdez/Russell/Cruz too much.
Conlan next year maybe ?

So he said. In Vegas.
In the real world he's fighting in Leeds again against the world's no.118.

Yes. He said his last one could be his last in Leeds. Now he's defending his title there against the world's no.118.mickey1975 wrote: ↑03 Oct 2019, 05:54Did you see his last three fights? Who did Barry fight in America?
Galahad opponent has little relevance, except he's a lot higher rated than Soft Touch.

Jack Bateson has been ruled out of his next fight. - By Elliot Foster
The Leeds super-bantamweight had been set to challenge Michael Ramabeletsa for the English title next weekend.
Bateson was scheduled to meet Ramabeletsa on October 12 at the First Direct Arena in his home city, exclusively live on BT Sport in the UK.
The fight was due to form part of the supporting cast to Josh Warrington’s IBF world featherweight title defence against Sofiane Takoucht, exclusively live on BT Sport in the UK, after picking up a hand injury and losing use of one hand.
“I set a goal to finish the year with my first title and even had plans of fighting again in November,” said ex-Team GB man Bateson, who will have an operation to repair the damage. “It’s not to be. Hopefully Michael –– who I’m sure has prepared as hard as I have [over the course of] these past few months –– and I can get it on again down the line.”

Re: Josh Warrington vs. Sofiane Takoucht - 12 October 2019
I'd never heard of Takoucht before, looking through his slate there, I never realised he was a former European champ, seen he has a loss to Frenois, he's a southpaw as well which Warrington surely wont be thrilled about as he struggled against Galahad, its not a great fight lets be honest but Warrington's been matched tough since becoming world champ, no easy first defence so i'll give him a pass
I doubt Takoucht will be as slippery and awkward as Galahad who I thought beat Warrington but who knows? theres nothing on his record to suggest he'll trouble Warrington too much, should be a routine win

LEEDS UNITED star Pablo Hernandez will be the good luck charm in Josh Warrington’s corner this weekend.
IBF featherweight champion Warrington (29-0, 6 KOs) makes the third defence of his world title against Sofiane Takoucht at First Direct Arena, Leeds on Saturday (October 12) night, live on BT Sport.
The club’s all-time great Lucas Radebe led the ring walk in Warrington’s title winning performance against Lee Selby in May 2018. Now it is the turn of the club’s current Player of the Year Hernandez.
Spanish midfielder Hernandez and several other Leeds United players will be roaring on Josh from ringside when he face France’s Takoucht.
Warrington who rarely misses a match when his team are playing at home said: “Pablo is our own Spanish magician so to have him holding my belt and getting in the ring with me, wow.
“It is great that several of the players can make it because it was the close season when I beat Kid Galahad in the summer and they had a match the next day when I boxed Carl Frampton.
“Leeds United are such a huge part of my life so it’s inspirational having the players watching me box. It’s mad because these are the fellas I cheer every weekend as a fan.
Having Lucas as part of the ring walk when I fought Selby was something else and having Pablo there fires me up for Takoucht.”
Hernandez has been sidelined with injury, but expects to return later this month and Warrington added: “The reaction I got when I put on Twitter that Pablo was part of my team this weekend was amazing.
“Just imagine the noise this weekend. Takoucht will have never heard anything like it.”
