Fury would soundly beat pulev.
Fury would soundly beat anybody.
Fury never beat anyone, he just win by papper jabs and collecting points from judges. In real boxing with no judges involved, he will get BEATEN TO DEATH.

Unusual to couple war boxing with pulev fandom. Granted, pulev is significantly better than welliver.

So, in real boxing there's no judges. What else you can tell about the REAL boxing?

In fairness I think Usyk was rusty on top of also fighting for the very first time at this weight. Id give him another couple of outings before making any judgements.

Even if he was rusty, what exactly was so off about the performance? He toyed with the guy and was in total control, did whatever he wanted whenever. Chazz maybe landed 2-3 punches a round. Clearly Usyk is going to be one of the quickest and best movers at the weight. The only negative judgment I can really say is that clearly he is not packing pop, because we've seen before that Chazz isn't a durable guy yet he was never really too hurt at any time.

But we kinda already knew that he wouldnt be a puncher and Usyk is a skill based and quickness based HW anyway. For me it was about as good as he could show vs that level of opponent, which basically amounts to no new negative info rather than positives to take.

We need to see him vs a higher level now.

Usyk did everything he was supposed to do. He was out of the ring for a long period of time coming off an injury and soundly defeated a true sized HW. He'll move up from here. Nothing to deduce from this fight other than Usyk is now a HW.

i don't take the op very seriously here.
it will be a good old ride, seeing usyk at heavy. he says he wants his shot at the wbo belt, so we'll see.
i think he should stay away from joshua and fury to be honest, for the time being. it will be difficult for him to negate their height advantage with his lack of power.

Not that I’m endorsing this thread, I think boxtune is a A grade idiot much like Jip.

My one criticism of Usyk is that his shoulders and hands are held very high and stiff, you could see in the fight that they were tiring as he was shaking them out re the lactic acid.

I know about this praying mantis like style personally. You tire your arms out by themselves and is not good for the long distance pro game imo. Look at someone like Andy Ruiz jr who is so smooth and relaxed with his punches, I like to see Usyk punch more like this, this would need a new trainer and possible years of practice.

I really like Usyk and am shocked that he is negatively criticised by some after putting on a pretty much flawless victory dominating every round and stopping a heavy weight but I just think he’s doing himself no favours with such stiff shoulders and punching.

Oleksandr Usyk probably isn’t as good as all the hype and praise that has been lavished upon him recently. In fact no fighter can ever hope to be anywhere near as good as fight fans previously proclaimed the Ukraine to be.

That being said, Oleksandr Usyk can be successful in the heavyweight division. And I suspect he can at least be regarded amongst the top six the weight class has to offer.

For a guy whose arms are apparently tiring out fast he sure has shown an excellent engine over the full stretch. His stamina has been as strong an attribute as any for him so not sure I agree that he's really struggling with his energy, at least to any point that it hurts his performances.

Could just be some idiosyncratic thing he does

He has nothing to do and achieve at CW, id respect him more for trying at HW and failing to get the title than if he stays at CW

He’s fit as a fiddle. However I noticed on several occasions he was shaking out his arms throughout the fight. One persistent criticism of Usyk is that he often arm punches and doesn’t hit hard overall. Again, I feel like if he could loosen up a bit he would have more snap and power.

Ruiz is overrated, because so much people was in love in Joshua. Either of them has to face pulev, as this time bob arum behind it forcing it
Agreed, that's why a pedestrian fighter like kubrat wouldn't be out of his element against Andy. At some point you're going to have to acknowledge that pulev sucks.
I'd pick Andy over Pulev any day. Ruiz will be busier, is a better boxer and I can't see a Pulev ko. Pulev does suck.

Pulev Rocks .... Lot of fighters including Pulev will beat Ruiz in future , and makes Anthony joushua look silly.

I agree with most of what you wrote, but Usyk didn't beat a typically-sized heavyweight.

He beat an opponent that was the same size as himself, but carrying about 30lbs of excess flesh.

Even if you ignored his fleshy physique, Chazz Witherspoon is a small heavyweight (in the context of his height/weight).

The average world-rated heavyweight currently stands at 6’ 4½” tall and weighs 254lbs.

Chazz Witherspoon was the same height as Oleksandr Usyk, but he was much fleshier than the Ukraine – arguably much chubbier than the vast majority of world-rated heavyweights competing today.

And even though the American entered the ring weighing 242lbs last weekend, this was an anomaly, since his typical physical prime weight was around the 230lbs mark.

So what I’m basically saying is that the 38-year-old Chazz Witherspoon was not only far past-his-prime, but he’s also a small heavyweight carrying a lot of fat.

His physical dimensions do not reflect the typical size of a heavyweight.
