Hi:

Fight Fax has his record in the 1997 book on page 545. 8)

I have also entered Armando’s 10th loss which the WBA inadvertently left out.
Frederic Alvarez 05/31/96 Copenhagen Denmark KO by 4. Both weighed 169

I have trouble with the
Juan Rondon Weterweight 6/4/1988 Maracay Venezuela W PTS 12
As I was following both Rodriguez & Rondon’s career at the time & can find no reference for it.

It seems to be a repeat of
4/9/1988 Maracay Venezuela W PTS 12 for the WBA-Latin title. 8)

The 1/22/1990 Inglewood CA. Perez-Rodriguez fight was a
Controversial decision…The Scoring was announced as 95-94 Perez, 94-94, 95-95. a majority draw.
However, it was later discovered that Rudy Jordan had actually scored 95-94 for Perez, not 95-95.
So Rodriguez got screwed with a loss. :(
Source; June 1990 Ring magazine, page 55.

I cannot verify the following bouts, maybe others can.

Jose Troconis Weterweight 4/7/1985 Cabimas Venezuela W KO 1
Daniel Blanco Weterweight 5/10/1985 Maracaibo Venezuela W KO 2
Gerardo Pimentel Weterweight 7/15/1985 Maracaibo Venezuela W KO 1
Jorge Polo Weterweight 10/17/1985 Maracaibo Venezuela W KO 1
Luis Otelo Weterweight 3/12/1986 Maracaibo Venezuela W KO 1
Juan Rondon Weterweight 6/4/1988 Maracay Venezuela W PTS 12
Antonio Mora Light Middleweight 10/30/1989 Venezuela W KO 4
Jose Palacios Light Middleweight 6/15/1990 Venezuela W KO 7
Rolando Ruiz Super Middleweight 4/8/1992 Venezuela W KO 3
Luis Moreno Super Middleweight 7/17/1992 Venezuela W KO 6
Luis Fernandez Super Middleweight 7/22/1998 Estadio Zulia Guatire, Venezuela W KO 2

Since there are no other records for these mentioned fighters in the data bank, plus the fact that it looks to me as record padding, I consider them suspect.

IMO,
With some discrepancies of the WBA, Ring Record book and Fight Fax on past records…The most recent being Roberto Duran…One should be sure of these entries.

These are just my 2 cents and no disrespect is intended.

Non taken. :)

These Asociations and FightFax need to get together to figure out all these records.

As per the WBA records the Juan Rondon second fight was a rematch where Armando retained the Latin American Title :-?

I wouldn't doubt your suspicions either. I've seen some very shady records around and mostly from Latin America. But that's what this site is all about clearing things up...If there are any other people that can verify this record please make some comments.

Thanks Blue for your comments
