Lightweights: Pernell Whitaker vs Shane Mosley

15 Rounds Lightweight Bout

Sweet Pea would dodge Sugar Shane's punches and out-box him behind his southpaw jabs and combinations to take a unanimous decision. What do you guys think?

Mosley was a sucker for boxers with good jabs. Whitaker would be no exception.

I have a hard time picturing Whitaker losing to anyone at light weight, unless it were perhaps roberto Duran.

Mosley was good at the weight, really sharp and respected.
Whitaker was phenomenal defensively, probably Pernell by a UD.

This would be kinda like watching a high speed version of Mosley vs Winky Wright. Whitaker's upper body movement, and defense is superior to Wright. Wright probably had the better jab, but Whitaker would be jabbing, and working his defensive magic on Shane. Shane with his speed at it's finest would have his moments as a Lightweight, but ultimately wouldn't catch up to Whitaker enough to win, or even come all that close.

116-112 Whitaker is probably best case scenario for Shane. I wouldn't be surprised if it were a little wider.
