Who is the longest active boxer?
Who is the longest active boxer?
Luis Collazo (fighting tomorrow night on ESPN undercard) has been boxing as a pro fight since 2000. Manny Pacquiao's pro debut was in 1995.
Re: Who is the longest active boxer?
This question reminds me of the story that at a time when trivia questions were being put on the back of baseball cards, one pitcher got the answer "12 inches" put under the question" how long is a pitcher's rubber?"

Turned pro in 2001
Re: Who is the longest active boxer?
I'm not sure if he's still active, but if he is he counts. I know he's fought in the last year or so, but I don't know if he plans to fight again or not.
Pacquiao is damn sure active, and I believe he started in '96 right? Or something like that.

Re: Who is the longest active boxer?
Yeah, McCall, good call. He made his pro debut the same year as Mike Tyson. The year that Spinks took the title from Holmes. Just frickin' ridiculous that he's still fighting.

Re: Who is the longest active boxer?
This interesting fact clearly doesn’t answer the question posed by the thread title, but the oldest currently active boxer I’m aware of is a 65-year-old man called Gilberto Jacobs, who scored a 1st round KO during March. He made his pro debut in 1989.
I think Oliver McCall might be the longest active boxer.

Re: Who is the longest active boxer?
McCall has been boxing since 1985 and last fought 4 to 5 months ago. AFAIK, he is the longest active boxer of those who are still fighting, his career meanwhile spans 34 years.
Re: Who is the longest active boxer?
Wondering what that old bull is gonna do next? And also will he countine till somebody kills him or what?
Nobody will sanction him fighting against anybody with some sort of name, right?
34 years is a long time and he had loads of fights. Did find it funny that he fought a polish fighter who had beaten his son... and won but did loss the rematch.
Crazy.

Re: Who is the longest active boxer?
I'm gonna say that it's Long or McCall. Depends what type of long you are after ![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)
I mean, McCall has been a pro forever
But Long is long, and he's really really long. So you've got a very long Long there.
Therefore tiny and jeff split first prize, I declare it official
