I'm in Texas. I assure you he'll get no worse than community service. More than likely going around to high schools telling kids the errors of his ways. Maybe a tv commercial.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑20 Oct 2019, 13:15 Not familiar with TX but in Wisconsin we have notoriously lax dd laws. However if you are drunk In an accident you get at least work release jail for 3 months

Nobody would go to jail for that with no priors.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑20 Oct 2019, 13:09He's also got some very influential people supporting him. I'd expect no jailJeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑20 Oct 2019, 13:07 He was drunk in a car accident. Hes going to jail for a stint
Re: Errol Spence Jr. charged with DWI
He'll get fined and perhaps some sort of probation. Just like anyone else. FFS, it's his first run-in.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. charged with DWI
Boxing star Errol Spence was scheduled to have a court setting Monday in his DWI case in Dallas. That has been pushed back and Spence's next court date is March 9, according to court records. Spence has not yet entered a plea. His lawyer Randy Sorrels told ESPN it will be "three or four months before any major decision is made" with regards to that. Spence was indicted on a misdemeanor DWI charge Nov. 20, stemming from a one-vehicle crash Oct. 10. Spence is the unified welterweight champion.

What's likely to happen to him? Is there any chance of him getting the jail?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 Jan 2020, 04:30 Boxing star Errol Spence was scheduled to have a court setting Monday in his DWI case in Dallas. Thanks for the update Ruthie
Hopefully this was a wakeup call for him.
A little taste of jail, and to know he isn't above the law- he would need Floyd money for that.

Errol Spence looks and sounds like he is always drunk, so...
Re: Errol Spence Jr. charged with DWI
So, lets keep cutting on a guy that was in his late 20's, all of a sudden rich, world champ, gets drunk and crashes his car. Spence has learned from it, like all young guys do. He has a nutritionist now, and can make weight while training, instead of focusing on just making weight. I don't think he has hit his peak yet.
Give the kid a break. It irritates me that this thread re-surfaces, but realize also that comes with the territory. Today's Spence is twice the boxer as he was a few years back. Whether it's enough to beat Bud remains to be seen.
So anyway, fornicate all ya'll if you give up on any young person striving to do their best, learning from mistakes. 99% of anyone that drinks and drives after are lucky to never have a DUI, and I am one of the lucky ones.
I guess suddenly becoming a millionaire and world champ should come with a manual, but it doesn't.
