Kevin Lerena vs. Firat Arslan - February 8, 2020
It´s official: IBO cruiserweight king Kevin Lerena (24-1) defends the title on February 8 in Goeppingen (Germany) against 48-year old veteran and fomer WBA champ Firat Arslan (47-8-3) with EC Boxing promoting.
Should Arslan win he will become the oldest world champion in history, yes, even older than the legendary Bernard Hopkins. For Lerena it´s his sixth defence of the title he won by beating Youry Kalemba in 2017.
as BS.com previosuly reported, former EBU welterweight champ Kerman Lejarraga returns to the ring on November 30 in Barcelona on a Gallego Prada promotion against an opponent to be announced. Lejarraga suffered back to back losses against David Avanesyan earlier this year and blamed it on problems with making weight.
In the chief support Alejandro Moya (12-0) and Ruben Rodriguez (8-4-19 clash for the vacant Spanish super welterweight title.

Re: Kevin Lerena vs. Firat Arslan - February 8, 2020
Arslan should call it a day, whether he wins or loses.
Re: Kevin Lerena vs. Firat Arslan - February 8, 2020

IBO cruiserweight champion Kevin Lerena (25-1, 12 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO 49-year-old former WBA champion Firat Arslan (47-9-3, 32 KOs) on Saturday night at the EWS Arena in Goeppingen, Germany. Lerena, 22 years Arslan’s junior, was too quick and strong for Arslan, getting the stoppage with about a dozen unanswered punches. Arslan was attempting to become the oldest boxer to win a world title. Bernard Hopkins’ record still stands.
Returning from her loss to Claressa Shields, former female middleweight champion Christina Hammer (25-1, 11 KOs) shut out Florence Muthoni (12-9-2, 6 KOs) over eight rounds.
Former European heavyweight champion Erkan Teper (21-3, 13 KOs) won a four round decision over Mykyta Nesterenko (1-3, 0 KOs).
In a clash between unbeaten super middleweights, Davide Faraci (15-0, 7 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Emre Cukur (14-1, 2 KOs) Cukur was down twice in round eight

That ring looks mega small
Re: Kevin Lerena vs. Firat Arslan - February 8, 2020
Yeah, i noticed that too, while watching it live. Maybe because of the angle?
Btw Faraci was also down in 2nd round against Cukur. Yet he was terrible after securing that KD, and struggled all fight long.

It’s the IBO title so Arslan wouldn’t have become the oldest world champion had he won...
