Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz II - 23 November 2019

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Deontay Wilder defends his WBC heavyweight title against Luis Ortiz in a massive rematch in Las Vegas, live on Sky Sports, presented by BombZquad Promotions.

Boxing's longest reigning world heavyweight champion faces Ortiz again at the MGM Grand next month following their epic first encounter in 2018, with Wilder nearly being stopped in the seventh round before he dramatically knocked out 'King Kong' in the 10th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

In the co-main event, Leo Santa Cruz attempts to become a four-division world champion when he battles Miguel Flores for the WBA 'Super' super-featherweight title before Wilder's second showdown with Ortiz.

Adam Smith, Head of Sky Sports Boxing, said: "We're delighted that Deontay Wilder is back on Sky Sports in an exciting Premier Boxing Champions rematch.

Like all but one of Wilder’s title defences, Sky Sports have picked this up.

Was fully expecting them to as well tbh.

Yeh, will definitely be Sky picking that one up too. Thought they would have already seeing as Canelo-Kovalev is in 2 weeks..

I think Wilder will still be aware of Ortiz’s skills and how he moves.

I don’t think it’ll be exactly like Wilder-Stiverne 2..

Stiverne threw what 4 punches that round, he was finished by time the weigh in began.

Ortiz is still a live dog in my eyes. Still think Wilder will win as he will be that much confident.

One year older?
With a more confident Wilder, who knows he can put his lights out?

Nah mate, I see this as more of a Stiverne 2. Wilder goes in and blasts him out fast. It's the smart move. Don't risk Ortiz catching him again, get him out of there in one or two rounds.

Ortiz should come clean about his real age. He wouldn't be far off beating Foreman's age record surely.

A better promotion tool for the fight would be to replay where Wilder was all over the place. Then at least the casuals would think the fight is going to be close the second time around- which it isn't.

ortiz walked him down, was clearly ahead and had him out on his feet in the first fight when they fvcked with him with the breather for wilder at the most crucial point of the fight.

guess how motivated ortiz will be now, knowing it's definitly his last shot at a title.

still nobody giving him a chance. experts.

I think Wilder is fave but this is a top fight. Ortiz won every round last time (apart from the ones he got dropped in).

Big fan of both men and really looking forward to seeing the rematch.

Wilder always brings it l but he might be well advised to tread a bit more carefully this time. Ortiz is as dangerous a heavyweight as there is on the world scene. Fair play to Wilder for taking this fight again. He's a true champion.

As for Fury recently saying Wilder lacks substance  Deontay's next 2 fights after their draw compare favourably against Schwarz and Wallin and wrestling which says it all
