they participate in the 2020 Olympics.
Good. They don't belong in amateur activities.

The WBC has allowed professional fighters to test positive for banned substances, escape punishment, sanctioned them to immediately participate in interim title fights and when that bout didn’t materialise, they even rewarded them by elevating them to mandatory challenger status without having to participate in title eliminators (as per Bermane Stiverne).
But if a professional fighter decides to compete in the Olympic games, as per other pro sports (such as golf, tennis, soccer), they’ll face an automatic two-year ban!
Isn’t it good that the WBC are diligently protecting the health of fighters!

The WBC will sanction mismatches that are more dangerous than anything they complain about with the pro vs amateur stuff

LOL. This just proves that WBC is pathetic.

Very good point. Amateur boxers who will qualify for Olympic games are all elite athletes, best in world. On the other side, look at some pro boxers from low ratings. Some of that guys should not be cleared for boxing.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Oct 2019, 12:08 The WBC will sanction mismatches that are more dangerous than anything they complain about with the pro vs amateur stuff
Edit: can mma pro fighters compete in amateur wrestling?
