What concessions make a Tank v Lomachenko fight
What concessions make a Tank v Lomachenko fight
What will have to happen to make a Gervonta Davis v Vasyl Lomachenko fight ?
The usual things will get in the way ...
Networks, TV, Broadcasting the lot.
Money and Weight will be right up there.
But I'd imagine Weight will be a front runner.
Lomachenko may have to give up some ground somewhere, surely it's a fight that can be made.
Is this a fight people want to see ?
How close or far are we to making it happen ?
Is it a pipedream and fall into one of the fights that never happened category ?
What say you

Why would weight be an issue?
Re: What concessions make a Tank v Lomachenko fight
I would rather see him vs Devin Haney, who is better than Tank over-all, in my opinion.

No matter what, Tank would have the advantage in sheer physical size but Loma is several levels above him as a boxer. The promotional and network politics will prevent it from ever happening though. Not nearly enough money on the table to force anyone’s hand.

I'm surprised there's not more will to make this fight.MATTPRENTICE wrote: ↑13 Oct 2019, 08:54 No matter what, Tank would have the advantage in sheer physical size but Loma is several levels above him as a boxer. Loma would have to sign with Daddy Al, and even then he'd milk it for a few years before he'd have 'em fight probably.
In the meantime Loma is better than Tank by miles, and Tank needs him, he don't need Tank.
Well...actually technically speaking neither of them NEED each other, but Tank ain't gonna get to where Loma is without beating him first.

Yeah, they don't need each other at all. Definitely disagree that loma is miles better, no evidence of that in the ring.

To be fair, Loma is giving up a lot of size at lightweight yet he's still unified three of the titles. I think Tank has a ton of potential but his promoter needs to pull the trigger and let the guy excel.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑17 Oct 2019, 11:14 Yeah, they don't need each other at all. That juvenile Davis would have to concede that the fight would be the challenge of his life and he may not win. His type doesn't like the risk.

If Gervonta Davis isn't developed as an all around boxer at this point which I think is true doesn't mean to say he's not on the cusp.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑17 Oct 2019, 11:14 Yeah, they don't need each other at all. Definitely disagree that loma is miles better, no evidence of that in the ring.
Lomachenko would be a big risk big reward type of fight.
If I were Al Haymon the fight itself is a no brainer, everyone would want to see it, question is when.
Tank is only 24 so I can see why Haymon would be reluctant.
However it's still a cool match up and a hot fight.

This has a Kostya v Judah feel about it, with Loma taking the win.

I don't see Haymon any more reluctant than arum. Not like lomas side has tried to make the fight for so much as one second. We'll see how ready loma is next year. I don't think arum will put him near Haney or tank unless he makes him.Evander wrote: ↑26 Oct 2019, 03:08If Gervonta Davis isn't developed as an all around boxer at this point which I think is true doesn't mean to say he's not on the cusp.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑17 Oct 2019, 11:14 Yeah, they don't need each other at all. No, Devin Haney has not yet earned a "Tank" Davis (Loma eliminator) fight. You gotta remember, Haney has fought 10 times in Tijuana Mexico vs incredibly weak opposition (so his pro record is inflated).
Now, it is true his last 5 opponents (some tough dudes) show that Devin is without a doubt a serious contender, but there is still some more work to be done before he ascends to the level you are putting him at.

Haney fought in Mexico because he was too young to fight here. Earned a loma fight? That's fornicating cute.chuck9788 wrote: ↑26 Oct 2019, 12:57No, Devin Haney has not yet earned a "Tank" Davis (Loma eliminator) fight. Tank clearly doesn't want Loma.

Nobody wants loma as much as you.
