Your right, it was the fella Prince ran over on the streets who got the brain bleed, not any if his opponents. Ingle got it after another fight.

the way Louis puts his punches together when he has Schmeling hurt is chilling, how he switches to the body with that cold, crippling accuracy, each shot looking like it would cripple a mortal man. awesome offensive efficiency and execution.

Wilfredo Gomez vs Derrick Holmes was a fun scrap. I think it was the premier of a Friday night fights reboot that didn't last too long.
Re: Favorite one-sided fights ?
Didn't McCullough suffer a very serious brain bleed shortly after the Hamed fight? Not sure any sorta moral victory is worth all that.
Nope.....you must be confusing him with someone else because he fought on in sanctioned fights for a good while longer.
Wayne fought very bravely indeed that night and like the proud champion he had been, I just really appreciated the way he kept Hamed honest and not able to be a total bell-end even though he was being outgunned.

That right hand he puts into Schmelings kidney area, it looks like his fist disappears entirely into Schmelings body, the expression of agony on Schmelings face and the palpable wincing folding of his body is excruciating to watch, probably as visible an expression of pain as I have seen in the ring, utterly chilling, Louis was terrifyingmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Oct 2019, 23:32Best combo puncher of all time possibly, and in general his punch technique was sublimeCounter-puncher wrote: ↑25 Oct 2019, 03:49

There's a really good analysis of Louis on YouTube, I think it's a Lee Wiley one, maybe another one out there toomargaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Oct 2019, 23:32Best combo puncher of all time possibly, and in general his punch technique was sublimeCounter-puncher wrote: ↑25 Oct 2019, 03:49

@Lenny.....nice call, I'd forgotten the Froch-Bute fight
Bute was supposed to be "all that" and Froch was due (again) to get duly exposed.......Carl had other ideas though.

Marco Antonio Barrera vs Paul Lloyd - Barrera was vicious in delivering a twelve round beating in 3 minutes.
Hamed vs Robinson - Hamed's coming out party and he looked the business against a very good champion.

Not sure if Steve Robinson has ever been accused of being a very good champion before.

Frazier vs Foreman I.
What a performance by young George. I'm not sure he ever looked better before or after.

Re: Favorite one-sided fights ?
True, but he was an underdog vs Frazier. Supposed to be a tuneup fight for Frazier/Ali II. Made it all that much more special. At least for my memory.

Greg gave Razor some problems IIRC.

That's great, shame it was after Page was on the downside.

Duran-Moore
I have to say Holmes-Cobb was a pretty good fight too for a one sided 15 round fight, and Holmes-Frank was fun too, Scotty tried his hardest but Larry Holmes was a monster then, no heavyweight except Tim Witherspoon stood a chance with him at that era.

He had a good run, dealt with McMillan, McKenzie and Hodkinson and was no mug.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 15:36Not sure if Steve Robinson has ever been accused of being a very good champion before.
