Fiodor Czerkaszyn - Mega Talent
https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/718305
He just knocked solid Guido Nicolas Pitto out in 1 round.
Poland-based Ukrainian, just 23 years old, 14-0, 9 KOs, fantastic body puncher, great jab, nice movement, very good technical skills, big variety of punches and combinations, knows how to fight in both outside and inside, he knows how to move, decent footwork, shows no stamina issues, only his chin is still to be tested, there is something special in him, very dedicated to the sport, humble, he knows his goals and what he is capable of, role model for every young fighter, he loves boxing, he trains then he stays to watch how others train, the he watches fights, he lives with boxing 24/7, he is possibly in top 10 of world's prospects. He shows improvement in every fight. He is a lanky frame, tall, physically strong MW.
Recently, he sparred with 16-2 Spain-based Venezuelan Ronny Landaeta, but Ronny couldn't stand his body punches and went home. Also, Czerkaszyn looked fantastic in sparrings with Szeremeta, Sulęcki, he also sparred with Callum Smith.
He learned Polish language, then he came to Warsaw gym from Kyiv and asked trainer Fiodor Lapin (Głowacki's and Włodarczyk's, among others, trainer) to let him show his skills, Lapin said that Czerkaszyn is probably the biggest talent he ever worked with.
He trains combat sports since very young age, never drank alcohol, his commitment to the sport is impressive. Keep an eye on him.

Re: Fiodor Czerkaszyn - Mega Talent
Not sure on mega talent, but he just managed to get a very rare stoppage win over Pat Mendy, who had only been stopped once in 36 fights vs good opposition. I watched some of his fights and he's not mega but he's pretty good, dag was right in that he defo one to at least keep an eye on and he only just turned 24
Re: Fiodor Czerkaszyn - Mega Talent
Cheers for that Maggs
I do remember this thread, miss Daggie too
Yep, this dude is on my prospect watchlist. He needs to go to the UK and have a bash at some of their second tier MW's- make a name for himself. Keeler, Cullen, Theophane etc.

Yes, good levers and great reflexes. One to watch for sure.
Now if we was US born he'd probably be navigated via the easiest path to some megabucks fights.
As it is he needs to follow the steeper climb of the GGG and Inoue route. Nothing so far to suggest that he won't.

worth of mention is that it was a TKO 1 win, maybe it will cause that more people will actually watch the video.

Is he of Polish descent? That surname looks more Polish than it does Ukranian.

Re: Fiodor Czerkaszyn - Mega Talent
I think dag may have Polonised the spelling, it looks more Ukrainian the way they have it on the video if you look.
I think that’s basically saying its the same name but with slightly different ways of spelling as Polish and Ukrainian are pretty closely related
So basically he could be either Ukrainian and Dag has Polonised it or he’s Polish and the K
Ukrainian nationalist who labelled the video Ukrainianised it

He is Ukrainian whose grandmother was Polish. He's born in Ukraine, since 2 weeks he has a dual citizenship.
to Polish from cyryllic alphabet - Fiodor Czerkaszyn
to English from cyryllic alphabet - Fedir/Fyodor Cherkashyn

He is fluent in Polish, in corner with his trainer, Russia-born Fiodor Łapin they communicate in Russian though.
He is proud of both his Ukrainian and Polish background. For me, he is a Poland-based Ukrainian. I wouldn't count him as a Polish world champion, but I wish him all the best. He said that he will choice the Ukrainian anthem if he ever will participate in a World Title fight.

It's just like in Polish we refer to Povetkin as ''Aleksander Powietkin'', Kovalev is ''Siergiej Kowaliow'', Loma is ''Wasyl Łomaczenko'' etc

Slightly different? Ukrainian spelling is Cyrillic. Of course, there is a Latin version for international use, but it is still not close to Polish.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑18 Mar 2020, 18:00 I think dag may have Polonised the spelling, it looks more Ukrainian the way they have it on the video if you look.

I have used Polish spelling because that's how, I think, it's easier to find info/videos/news about him.Nondescript wrote: ↑19 Mar 2020, 11:22Ah, makes senseCounter-puncher wrote: ↑18 Mar 2020, 18:00 I think dag may have Polonised the spelling, it looks more Ukrainian the way they have it on the video if you look.

Simple solution- stay out of Off Topic, and just talk about boxing ( when it isn't all cancelled due to Covid 19)Aaron Feigenbaum wrote: ↑19 Mar 2020, 05:00No place for me on BoxRec (a political forum with a boxing section)![]()
