I’d have agreed once upon a time but they are miles and miles apart now. Price would be a nervous wreak getting out of the changing room far in less by the time the first bell went. Wallin was a far better test than Price would be, Fury needs to be moving on from that level, not regressingGrilling Machine wrote: ↑28 Oct 2019, 13:38 The only fight Price should consider now is Fury, and that's a risk to his health because he might take more shots than usual. But he might also find it in himself to let his hands go against someone his own size who doesn't bang.
Everyone else just gets underneath him and he freezes. His only window of opportunity is that momentary state (at best) when he's hurt and fires back.

I'm not advocating it, but if Price agreed to retire whatever the outcome then I'd be okay with it. It'd have a bookend feel. Everyone else is unnecessary danger, and Fury could use it as a December keep-busy for Feb.

Apparently he had a fight lined up before the Chisora call-up, which is still going through...

Has he forgotten how to jab, or did he never know? Hard to tell now... there wasnt one boxing basic on show. Absolutely appalling.
Re: Derek Chisora vs. David Price - 26 October 2019
He was only there for the £££££, just over 2 weeks notice he had and wasn't fit so don't blame him
Re: Derek Chisora vs. David Price - 26 October 2019
That is because Allen is a journeyman and Chisora is a legit contender. That is why Price looked different.MasterG wrote: ↑27 Oct 2019, 10:13 Looking at the fight last night and how the last 2 performances of David Price panned out its almost like 2 different boxers. Price easily dispatched of Dave Allen and showed some boxing skill, but last night its almost the Price we see more often. Price didnt have a clue how to fight him and it was almost like he actually didnt know how to box. He didnt have a plan at all except hold for dear life. Chisora could have fought all night like that and would have certainly lasted the 12 rounds better than David.
I really dont know what Prices strategy was? Its almost like he knows he is going to get knocked out. Price didnt even give it a go last night. He could have come out swinging and got koed in the first it would have been better than hanging and holding for 4 rounds.
Dave goes from one extreme to the other, he fights an area level fighter then goes back to the fringe of the world rather than fighting area levels then trying for something a bit simpler like the English. It was a great stoppage last night from his corner they did the right thing but this will not stop David from carrying on. I can see him coming back fighting an area level boxer again and getting a win. But where that takes him hell knows.
Realistically he needs to jack it in but he will be back next year.

Dave Allen isn't a journeyman (yet). Dave is a top 10 British heavyweight.emallini wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 07:55That is because Allen is a journeyman and Chisora is a legit contender. Neither are journeymen and neither are legit contenders. Chisora is a schooled boxer with a lot of experience and a good amatuer background, that's the differenceemallini wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 07:55That is because Allen is a journeyman and Chisora is a legit contender. It’s weird, he’s regressed from havingsharpei_louis wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 07:26 Has he forgotten how to jab, or did he never know? Hard to tell now... there wasnt one boxing basic on show. Absolutely appalling.
a) a decent jab to setup the right hand
To
b) a rubbish pawing jab which didn’t do anything
To
c) not even throwing jabs anymore

He went completely gunshy.
Shame no-one could do to him what Steward did to Wlad.
Re: Derek Chisora vs. David Price - 26 October 2019
he spent all the time in the run up telling people he was in camp and had been training for a fight anyway - so was fit .
that was as good as he is going to be at this stage of his career and frankly its not good enough for sky tv or enough to compete at any level that pays good money .

Price didn't look good, Chisora had more skin in the game.
It probably took something out of Del Boy but he delivered again.
Dereck Chisora is one of the balliest fighers I've ever seen.

Thinking from another thread, remember the days when people still wouldn't pick against Pricey. His 5th loss, the one vs Pov, was the first he wasn't favoured to win.

Price was 1/3 I think. I made money backing Hammer by KO.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑31 Oct 2019, 06:44Was he favoured against Hammer?margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2019, 00:19 Thinking from another thread, remember the days when people still wouldn't pick against Pricey.
