The most unbeatable fighter - Autumn/Winter 2019/2020 ?
Who ? Why ?
I have not put Canelo on this list, because nobody knows in which weight division he will continue his career.

Of those guys I feel Inoue has the biggest gap between him and the other guys in the division. Loma might only be the 4th best guy at 135 right now if we aren't going by paper.

Definitely not loma. Nery is a potential tough one for Inoue. Considering whom he can fight, Crawford. Shiro should be on the poll, he's a beast.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 15:21 Of those guys I feel Inoue has the biggest gap between him and the other guys in the division. Nery is defo the hardest one for Inoue, though to me it's still one Inoue has the decided advantage in.

They'd all easily beat Linares too.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 15:30I guarnatee you that at minimum Haney, Tank, and Teo all give him very tough nights

I chose monster. He just has more of the boogie man aura surrounding him right now.
Admittedly Loma is probably the best boxer on the list, but the way Inoue has been bashing his way to the top edges it for me.

Tough fights/nights ? Yes.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 15:30I guarnatee you that at minimum Haney, Tank, and Teo all give him very tough nights
Right now, I think Loma beats all of them in the competitive fights.
I suppose it will be quite different situation in 2021 (father time).

Loma has the aura,. but look at his actual performances at 135---have they really been that impressive? He was neck and neck with Linares in a tough fight until the end, beat Pedraza handily enough but we know Tank did too, and then was very so so vs Campbell. No doubt he's very good, but from what I see at 135 I think these young guys , tho0ugh less proven at this time, would absolutely have a chance.

I'm looking at his next closest rival, Nery, and I still see Inoue with more power, faster hands, and more compact sharper punches. Better defense. Just seems a beast for real at 118.
Re: The most unbeatable fighter - Autumn/Winter 2019/2020 ?
True. It's that gunshot crack when he fires off his big shots. For 118 it's mind bogglingmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 16:49I'm looking at his next closest rival, Nery, and I still see Inoue with more power, faster hands, and more compact sharper punches. He also has that Japanese tough as nails quality. I think that even if he gets tested, he will keep battering away until the KO or quit on the stool happens.

Maybe Tete could do something with that huge height advantage or something, but ya looks true to his nickname at 118

He might be the best fighter on the planet. After Errol's last fight I think Crawford and Inoue are a solid top 2 in either direction.
Re: The most unbeatable fighter - Autumn/Winter 2019/2020 ?
He (Inoue) might be the best fighter on the planet, but it it very difficult to prove, because the BW is pretty weak division.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 17:07 He might be the best fighter on the planet. After Errol's last fight I think Crawford and Inoue are a solid top 2 in either direction.
I think the majority of the members of this forum would agree about this fact.
I voted for Lomachenko, I suppose there is no need to explain.
Briedis is a very underrated fighter on this forum. I admit that I will always root against him (after Glowacki case), but he is versatile and adaptable fighter, capable to box or brawl, tricky and dirty (unfortunately). As I said I will root for Dorticos, but, I am afraid that Briedis will manage to avoid his bombs, and be victorious at the end. I can not imagine any CW may beat Briedis in the near future.

Lomas opponents at 35 haven't been any better and Inoue has been much more impressive. Lightweight has guys emerging, your boy hasn't fought any of them yet.ValMar wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 14:26He (Inoue) might be the best fighter on the planet, but it it very difficult to prove, because the BW is pretty weak division.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑29 Oct 2019, 17:07 He might be the best fighter on the planet. Loma's resume (in the division lower than 135) was much better than Inoue's resume (in the divisions lower than 118). This is obvious.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 16:14Lomas opponents at 35 haven't been any better and Inoue has been much more impressive. So? You said bantam is weak. No weaker than who loma has been fighting. In fact, after donaire Inoue will clearly have faced better recent opposition. I'm just responding to your own criteria. No problem with somebody thinking loma is the best. I have him 4th, his resume gets overblown though. The talent is obvious, people acting like he's beaten a who's who are kidding themselves. If p4p is long term resume for you, PAC is #1 followed by canelo.ValMar wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 17:52Loma's resume (in the division lower than 135) was much better than Inoue's resume (in the divisions lower than 118). Re: The most unbeatable fighter - Autumn/Winter 2019/2020 ?
I'm surprised you listed Briedis, since he has already lost to Usyk in the WBSS. I believe Inoue is the most unbeatable fighter and he may go all the way up to 130 pounds before he loses. Ironically there are rumors that Lomachenko would be interested in fighting Inoue at 130!! Not exactly a fair fight, but here is one of the rumor articles:

https://www.boxingnews24.com/2019/10/lo ... herweight/
Vasiliy Lomachenko is hoping to expand his options by letting it be known that he’s willing to fight unbeaten IBF/WBA bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue (18-0, 16 KOs). But here’s the catch: Inoue has to move up 3 weight classes from bantamweight to meet him at super featherweight. Good luck with that, Inoue.
Inoue would be a HUGE disadvantage similar to how former super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux was when he moved up two weight classes to fight Lomachenko at super featherweight in December 2017. While a lot of boxing fans would be intrigued by the idea of Inoue taking on the much bigger Lomachenko, it wouldn’t exactly be a fair fight, would it?
There was NO catch-weight given to the two-time Olympic gold medalist Rigongdeaux against Lomachenko in their fight in 2017, and the Cuban fighter ended up getting stopped in the 6th round. Given how badly that fight ended for the smaller guy, it’s safe to say Inoue won’t be volunteering to put himself at a similar disadvantage against Lomachenko.

I saw Arum say that Inoue wants to fight Loma at 126, and that Loma countered with come to 130.
More like Loma should fight the studs already at lightweight, and Inoue and Nery should fight.

Yes, bantam (all divisions lower than 118, too) is weak. There is no man on the earth who can convince me the opposite. Inoue has never faced a top level opponent. Inoue might have a great potential, but right now it is too early to compare him and Loma.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 18:27So? You said bantam is weak. No weaker than who loma has been fighting. Loma is fighting weaker opposition than Inoue is. You make no sense.ValMar wrote: ↑31 Oct 2019, 13:29Yes, bantam (all divisions lower than 118, too) is weak.
