Just watched this again. Had it even after 6, have Taylor 7-10 close on work rate and Prograis 11, 12 very clear last two rounds. That’s 116-112 and if I scored an early one even, like I wanted to, I would’ve had the 117-112 the judge had. Nothing wrong with that card.

Prograis so slick throughout, Taylor just an animal. I’d rather see Prograis vs Ramirez and then the rematch.

Also a history of modern American welts crossing over to whoop the hometown Brit in Tim Bradley(Junior Witter,) Terrence Crawford(Ricky Burns,) and Earl Spence(Kell Brook,) so I expect Regis to extend that mean streak with either a beating or a KO.

Unless there is are officiating "malfunctions," insert snickers (here!)
Bradley and Crawford were not “welts” in those fights. Plus Prograis and Taylor are not “welts” either....

IBRO historically only rates the original whole positions, not Junior or super artifices, how ever the Jr. Welt title was first claimed in 1922 and officially recorded in 1926 with Mushy Callahan win soon to be drethroned by IBHOF Kid Berg. Been more than a dozen such greats holding the title, ie traditional WELTER!

If you look at the fighters you mention, all were substantially above the 135 limit at various points, a limit which is a somewhat modern construct finally settled upon. Ricky at Lightwt weighed more on fight nite than a number of ibro top 20 all time welts.

I see Gervonta Davis has called Taylor out and they are now trading insults, that would be a cracker of a fight! :box:

I was rewinding and rewatching some of the inside work by Prograis and Taylor as the fight went on. Both guys doing some neat work in there.
At the end I had it 115-113. I saw it that close.
As for the future, I don't mind either fighting Ramirez. For fairness though, I think Reggie needs to have an eliminator first, whereas Taylor can go straight for a unification IMO.

Same card he had. The only dominant RDS in the fight were the last 2. Taylor was definitely busier, both were sound defensively. Great fight, fine decision, both elevated themselves. Prograis could get himself a shot at Crawford.

The thing is that the f*cker is not so little strength wise. If he carries his power to 140 without seriously affecting his speed, he will be dangerous.

This is true. But if he keeps going the way he is, after a break following the Gamboa fight (Really?! Gamboa?!) he's going to have to start calling out middleweights.

Yep, one can see his cheeks from behind his ears.

He will likely face LSC next. Poor Leo will probably have to fight at 135-140.

I'd say he wins hands down. No contest.

Consistently abysmal for years and has possibly got worse rather than better with experience.
I mean how can you actually get worse with more experience
Adams mastered it.

Now I’ve double checked it. 3.5 rounds to Prograis really is a terrible card. Apologies.

All in jest. I agree with you. I don't score fights anymore specifically because I'd rather drink. Prograis definitely won the last two(that's all I keep) but I felt Taylor was outworking him most of the close RDS(all of the others IMO). Great fight, fan of both.
