Edit: the division is still pretty stacked, besides WBSS winner and Nery, there is also Zolani Tete - John Casimero winner, Joshua Greer and Takuma Inoue - Nordine Oubaali winner
Will Luis Nery face WBSS winner ?

Assuming Naoya Inoue beats Nonito Donaire in the final of the WBSS, then I can’t imagine the Japanese fighter facing Luis Nery in his homeland.
Isn’t the Mexican banned for life in Japan after failing a drug test and also failing to make weight during the course of both of his bouts against Yamanaka?

No reason to assume that.

That Inoue wouldn't travel.

I didn’t assume that Naoya Inoue wouldn’t travel. I didn't write that.
That being said, Inoue has only fought twice outside his native Japan, when he faced an American on US soil and also during his last outing, by fighting a Puerto Rican on neutral ground (as per the typical WBSS tournament practice).
Inoue might decide to refrain from facing Nery anyway, if it leaves himself open to receiving criticism from his fellow countrymen, due to blatantly bypassing the Japanese boxing commissions’ ban.
Also, I could be wrong, but hasn’t Naoya Inoue regularly appeared on DAZN, with that streaming service having a million subscribers in Japan?

Greer doesn't belong near the conversation
Technically it's an "indeinfite ban" it can be rescinded but it's unlikely to beEnlightened-One wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 08:12Assuming Naoya Inoue beats Nonito Donaire in the final of the WBSS, then I can’t imagine the Japanese fighter facing Luis Nery in his homeland.

Inoue has no connection to DAZN in Japan. He's a Fuji TV fighter, with WOWOW having rights on some of his fights.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 08:51I didn’t assume that Naoya Inoue wouldn’t travel. I didn't write that.

The JBC and Japanese fans would have no issue with him travelling to face Nery.
Reality is Nery is the mandatory to the winner of Oubaali vs Takuma Inoue, again no issue with with JBC.
Inoue has said he wants to fight abroad, and it sounds as if he will fight on foreign soil once a year going forward.

Well, the us hasnt exactly been a hot bed for Japanese bantamweights. As far as I recall he just started on dazn with this tourney and network fights in Japan draw far more than a million viewers. If nery beats Rodriguez he'll be the wbc mandatory so I wouldn't expect it next, but there is no evidence to suggest Inoue wouldn't come here for the fight.

I sure hope so. If Inoue beats Donaire as expected, it'll be the biggest fight to be made in the division by a mile and a half. Hell, it'd br one of the best fights to be made in ANY division.
The only other choice for Inoue would be to move up to 122.

Admittedly I don’t know very much about Japanese television network coverage of bouts, but Naoya Inoue will be facing Nonito Donaire in Japan, with the fight televised globally by DAZN. He’s definitely appeared on that network several times.
Like I said before though, I don’t actually know how Japanese people residing in Japan will watch Inoue’s bout against Donaire, but DAZN definitely has more than one million subscriers in that country.

It WILL NOT BE SHOWN ON DAZN IN JAPAN. He has NEVER FOUGHT ON DAZN IN JAPAN. He has only ever fought on TV TOKYO, FUJI TV AMD WOWOW in Japan.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 10:01Admittedly I don’t know very much about Japanese television network coverage of bouts, but Naoya Inoue will be facing Nonito Donaire in Japan, with the fight televised globally by DAZN. He has had bouts shown on DAZN in other territories, but NOT Japan.
Fuji TV will show the Donaire bout for free live in Japan
WOWOW will show it on delay

Not anger, just for clarity as you said it will be shown globally on DAZN which is misinformation. It's being shown in SOME -again clarity, territories on DAZN. Likewise he has only been shown on the DAZN service in SOME territories.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 12:46Please take the time to read the comments you respond to.Boxing Prospect wrote: ↑30 Oct 2019, 11:17
