The Tubbs of 85 vs the Cooney of 80-81. Who wins?

I lean towards Tubbs, because of his speed, flexibility, bounciness, and general boxing ability. Cooney was a very hittable fighter against this kind of opponent. My guess is that Tubbs could get his punches accurately, and that Cooney wouldn't be able to penetrate Tubbs's guard. End result is Tubbs by late round stoppage, or on points.

This is all just a guess on my part. But what I recall about Big Gerry is that if he couldn't land his power-laden left hand, he was in trouble.

Or Cooney by early KO or Tubbs by points.

This. Tubbs was better as a boxer, but he could fail to survive the early onslaught.
