I haven't watched wrestling in years, but I have always had a healthy respect for the guys who do it.

It is a tough old game, one mistake inside the ring could end a career.

Even when they get things right, the wear and tear on the body leads to no end of injuries and many wrestlers pretty much live on painkillers.

Also, if Vince Mcmahon takes a dislike to you, you will pretty much get frozen out and have to work the dark segments or might even have move to Japan to make a living.

No doubts they have to be very skilled and hard as nails, yes it's fixed but a 18st man dropping off the top rope onto your chest takes a serious amount of training and practice and anyone who thinks it's easy should have a go.

Vince Mcmahon the greatest promoter there's even been. Getting 80k people to turn up to a scripted event is genius.

I had forgotten about that. You are right. Titan Sports had the rights to closed circuit and PPV.

I am a huge wrestling fan, so I was watching anyway.
I thought Fury did really well, for a non-wrestler coming in for one match with limited training. He even managed a kip up at one point! (although it wasn't the best). Overall it was an entertaining enough match on a card that is more about one-off showpieces than the ongoing storylines.

Do we believe the paypacket? I just dont see there being enough money in WwE t o pay one person that much for one fight ($12-$15m).

The Saudi government have been paying ridiculous amounts for these shows, hence the fact they've been able to get Goldberg and Shawn Michaels to come out of retirement for some rather bad matches previously.

If he’s getting that kind of money for toy fighting I’d be surprised if he boxes again, why fight Wilder a man who’s could literally kill you for $30m when you could get 15m for getting a Chinese burn and put in a headlock?

WWE haven’t chased him because he is a star, Top Rank have done a deal to get him on there to try to make him a star

Also, I believe it's FOX who now show Smackdown, they wanted WWE to invite Fury to the premiere.

Why do some people say it's scripted, not fakel when. It clearly is fake?

Word is that maybe the cheques haven't been arriving , some sort of issues going on out there too
