Middleweights: Bennie Briscoe vs Alan Minter

Post by scorpio83 »

Under the 15 round limit at middleweight, either Minter boxed Briscoe behind his southpaw stance to take a decision or Briscoe would make Minter looked "Bad" by stopping him on both his eyes cut for a TKO in 12 after nailing him with powerful punches. What do you guys think?

Same. I can’t see Briscoe not stopping him on cuts

Briscoe was pretty good, but if you look at this record, you'll see that he lost a lot of fights. I really believe that Alan Minter would have hustled, slashed, and jabbed Briscoe all night, earning an SD or a UD.

Maybe Bad Bennie would get lucky and cut Minter, to obtain a TKO. That's always a possibility here. But I think Minter was a better overall athlete compared to Briscoe. Minter also had serious height and reach advantages here too. I see Alan keeping Bennie at bay for the most the evening and winning on points.
