Hopkins said something about wanting to avoid tarver's left. (bizarrely, the Scotsman say his "left lead"!)

Tarver replies "what if he gets smashed by my right hook?"

Hopkins should have countered, "Your right hook is thrown like an old woman's handbag."

Just saw clips of their press conference on Sky Sports News. Tarver says he hopes Hopkins is coming to fight then there could be another Hagler v Hearns because thats what he is planning on.

How is Tarver going to plan a Hagler v Hearns strategy throwing 10 punches per round??

I really hope Hopkins wins.

I just don't see how Hopkins can make an impression on Tarver, who should win this clearly.

I don't so much think this will be a boring fight, but i can't see it being a toe-to-toe slugfest.

All depends on peoples definition of boring i suppose.

I can see Tarver throwing sparsley - not wanting to waste energy by throwing and missing wildley. Tarver could be doing a lot of stalking, but i feel if he can spear Hopkins on the end of his jab, then Tarver will win widley.

Hopkins has looked in good shape - of what i've seen of him anyway. 'B-Hop' needs to stop worrying about Tarver's left, the lad can hit with either hand. It wouldn't suprise me if Hopkins ended up on the floor at some stage of the fight.

I like both men, although i don't think Tarver is as good as he says he is, i still think he is better than 99% of the light-heavyweights currently active. If Hopkins can roll back the years and pull of the win, i will be most happy.

I just don't think it will happen.

This fight could surprise a few people, everyone is deriding it as a poor match-up and preparing for an excruciatingly boring fight so it will probably turn out to be a barn-burner.

Hopkins wants to end it in the division he began, pity he got beat once before in that division and it looks like it is going to happen again, still it will be a nice way to bookend his career. I'd prefer Hopkins to win though. Tarver has been so badly overrated due to his fights with Jones.

either it comes from a gross inflation of his own self worth, or he felt he was in so much deep shit when Jones was outclassing him in the first round that he feels the turnaround made it a classic. I think be4 he landed that left, he was in a real panic (as with the 2nd Harding fight).

still, Tarver's never to my knowing been in a fight of real sustaine daction. apart from the first Harding fight, when Harding made him crumble like a broken biscuit,
