I think that Canelo will aim to fight Bivol sooner or later, he will avoid Beterbiev though

There were 2 or 3 very close rounds, rounds 2 and 4 were hard to split, I had Kovalev winning round 2 and Canelo winning round 4 but it could've been anyone's.

There were rounds where Kovalev's punches bounced of gloves and his jabs were only touching but Canelo landed clean shots.

That is the type of fight you have to sit ringside to really see the clear pattern of the fight.

Even more bitterness aimed at undermining Canelo’s feat.

People are so bitter nowadays!

What you think about the scorecards?
Irrelevant in relation to the outcome of the fight itself.

We should be talking about the fight itself and Canelo’s victory, since he stopped Kovalev.

None of Canelo’s detractors would have ever agreed with the judges scorecards, unless they’d awarded every single round to Kovalev.

Have you read some of the anti-Canelo remarks accusing Kovalev of fighting as if he’d been paid off, with the very same people also moaning about the corrupt scorecards?

What’s it to be, both accusations can be true can they?

If it rains in Las Vegas today, would that be Canelo’s fault also?

You never answered his question

What was your scorecard?

I'd imagine you had Alvarez well ahead.

You've always been biased against Golovkin and Kovalev.

I didn’t have Canelo well ahead.

I have never disliked GGG either. My comments have always related to my dislike of Sanchez, Loeffler, K2, his teams false claims, his illogical fans and also the calibre of opposition Gennadiy has faced.

My dislike of Krusher generally relate to his out of ring antics. And let’s face it, if you feel he doesn’t deserve to be criticised for some of the stuff he’s done, then you’re either an idiot or ignorant.

I have ALWAYS been complementary about the pugilistic skills and overall fighting ability of Krusher and GGG.

And it’ll be categorically impossible for you to prove otherwise, but I’d really love to see you try.

Come on kid, try to prove me wrong or admit to lying, because if you can provide evidence to achieve the former, then the latter must be true. :TU:

I had Kovalev up six rounds to four, but I recognised that he was clearly fading.

I don't know if it's only me, but I have seen the ko many times and I don't see too much power on canelo's miraculous punch that put Kovalev so bad.

A gentle reminder everyone, Canelo WON by STOPPAGE.

Based on some of posts in this thread, it seems people forgot about that!

I had Kovalev up 5-4-1. Canelo landed the more effective punches, IMO, which surprised me because Kovalev was the bigger man. Kovalev fought like he could simply outpoint Canelo, which wasn’t going to happen.
But the discussion is irrelevant since Canelo Ko’d him in a convincing manner so the bias in scoring, if there was any, doesn't matter

This. Canelo took away the need for judges, which I believe he needed to do, and he did just that.

We all know the deal with scoring in his fights so it’s nice when it doesn’t have to go down that road.

It's kind of shocking though that Morretti seems to be there scoring all of Canello's Vegas fights even after the controversial ones

Kov was tired by then. Punch resistance is always lower when a fighter is tired. He was definitely hurt by it.

Yeah, you could see by the way he reacted to the cuffing left just before the 1-2.

Thing is its not like the fight was fought at a high tempo either. He fought a much higher tempo against Yarde.

You do have to wonder if he wasn't eyeing retirement because there seemed a lack of commitment.

Well done to Canelo, think he should move down to 168.
