Re: Canelo vs Kovalyov - what was your scorecard?
I had it 6-3 Kovalev (87-84) I watched it at a Movie Theater and about 20 Seconds into the 10TH Round, The Screen goes blank and the lights come on, Everyone was going crazy, A Theater Employee said it happened because the fight started so late, and it was automatically set to end, so After 20 minutes of waiting and not knowing if they would replay what we missed, I went home, expecting to hear Canelo won a Close Controversial Decision (Cash Cows rarely lose on the Scorecards) but I find out Canelo Won Clearly and decisively with an 11th Round Knockout, I wish I could have seen it.

Rounds 1, 3, 8 and 9 were clear Kov rounds, with 6, 7 and 10 clear for Canelo. The score after 10 depends on what you valued most in rounds 2, 4 and 5. You could relistically have it anything from 7-3 Kov, to 6-4 Canelo, giving one fighter every benefit in those close rounds.
Legitimate stoppage though, after Kov was clearly tiring, so it doesn't matter much.

Was half asleep but I had it 6-3 kovalev with 1 even.
It's clear he wasn't going to get the decision anyway. Canelo seemed to get credit for merely stalking.
I got sick of hearing how he was controlling the fight whilst throwing absolutely bugger all shots.

None of it matters much. It's like saying McGregor was on even terms with Floyd.

Yes sir you are right. It was a good knockout and no matter who was winning canelo earned the ko victoryIKSRTFO wrote: ↑03 Nov 2019, 22:28Deleted_Scenes wrote: ↑03 Nov 2019, 06:19 1. Kovalev

I wasn't trying to take anything away from Canelo. Kovalev tired, at least partly, due to Canelo's tactics.tiny_acres wrote: ↑03 Nov 2019, 23:23Yes sir you are right. It was a good knockout and no matter who was winning canelo earned the ko victory
When I said it didn't matter much, I was referring to how we all scored the fight, not the ko itself.
Re: Canelo vs Kovalyov - what was your scorecard?
96-94 before the very end. Nelo looked slow, frustrated for too much time.

It was a good ko. Scorecards are not important at that point

Scorecards are part of what happened, fun to discuss and argue, after all there was more to the fight than a ko

Re: Canelo vs Kovalyov - what was your scorecard?
Seems like most of experts had Canelo ahead, while most of fans think that Kovalyov was winning.
Re: Canelo vs Kovalyov - what was your scorecard?
...I don't think there are that many fans who question the legitimacy of the KO...it's all about the scorecards here, about the fact that the same boxers have been favored and protected for whatever reason...there's no doubt that if Kovalev somehow made it to the end of round 12, he would have lost ANYWAY...knowing THAT Canelo's team can certainly plan their fights accordingly thus getting an unfair advantage...
Re: Canelo vs Kovalyov - what was your scorecard?
5-4-1 Kovalev for me. The 1 is round 2, which I thought Canelo probably won but was very close so i called it a draw. I wouldn't have had a problem with the scoring being a draw when Canelo KO'd him, but i couldn't see either guy being ahead by more than one round at that point

Re: Canelo vs Kovalyov - what was your scorecard?
I had it 6-4 Canelo.
It was a close fight but too many of Kovalev's punches were trashy throwaway jabs that didn't land or landed on the gloves. There were at least 3 or 4 razor-thin rounds so I could see a lot of scorecard variance.

Re: Canelo vs Kovalyov - what was your scorecard?
5-5
Kovalev had stretches where he was throwing some punches, but was utterly ineffective and landed nothing to speak of. He was boxing well in stretches, but it was far from a boxing lesson. I'm speaking of the discrepancy in punches thrown in the fight.
