Quality of non PPV shows

Post by rhino222 »

This has seriously dropped over the last 18 months.

Non PPV quality 'stars' are now being used for PPV undercards. This leaves what i would consider to be 3rd tier 'stars' to headline the non PPV shows.

2nd tier 'stars' like Chisora etc should be headlining the non PPV shows

Anthony Crolla (no disrespect - former great champion and nice guy) is now a 3rd tier 'star'

...... or is it just me

Maybe skysports should just totally be a 'pay as you play' service for football and boxing and F1 etc

Yeah it’s total sh!t, but as long as people keep being these crappy unnecessary PPVs, it’s not going to stop.

What we need to do is cancel the regular subscriptions. That hurts them more as it affects their ability to pay for their one true love, English premiership football

Never mind non PPV, most PPV shows are dog shit these days, I just can’t listen to those sky clowns any more either so I don’t bother streaming most shows any more, rather watch Netflix, Infact why am I even on a boxing forum?

To be fair BT sports have done some good non ppv fights in the last 18 months warrington v Selby/galahad, frampton v Jackson, dubios v gorman, Joyce v jennings, catterall v davis

This is just off the top of my head to be fair..

Eddie Hearn was creaming his pants about what a great show it was on saturday and it was 'free'

Eddie....... as a public schoolboy, and im guessing you are one by the way you walk. If people pay a subscription for sky sports then they are actually indirectly paying for the boxing. It is not 'free'...the customer pays monthly for it you muppet.

I live abroad outside the EU, i can get the whole sky package for 25 quid a year inc ppv's... its the good honest british citizen back home in blighty i feel sorry for.

I think Eddie’s interview with IFL that you’re referring to will serve as a bit of a marker to when the penny either finally or fully dropped with the majority of us that he’s become entirely disconnected from the core boxing audience.

When Matchroom got back into boxing properly 7/8 years ago they were a breath of fresh air and quickly set up a good stable and began to reconnect with a market that was in the doldrums a wee bit following the retrials of the likes of Calzaghe and Hatton.

Now it’s gone full circle. Saturday night was absolute wank and how anyone can be so deluded to trot out in public and virtually give themselves a reach around in congratulations on a great card is beyond belief.

Crolla’s quite entitled to a swangsong if he wants one (although I’ve always felt testimonials are for games, not for boxing) but should it feck be headlining one of the scarce Saturday fight nights Sky now bother to put on.

The card and Eddies defence of it reek of self justification. Adam Smiths weakness at rubber stamping it after all his tough talk about improving Sky cards over the summer just show how weak he is in his role

I haven't purchased a PPV since Froch vs Groves 2. Just disillusioned with it.

Yes I was referring to the IFLTV interview you mentioned earlier.

Hey....did you hear Adam Smith say on commentary on sat night that Dave Coldwell trains Anthony Farnell up in Sheffield!! (he meant Fowler of course but I nearly spat my Efes out)

Anymore fornicate ups like that and Smith will end up as MC for the PPV shows.

Funny thing is Eddie claimed this Katie Taylor card was the best non PPV card he has ever made top to bottom and The Taylor vs Prograis card is the best card he has ever made top to bottom LOL.

He thinks he is peaking LOL
