Stating the obvious, but I think from Wilder's standpoint, he doesn't want to be accused of ducking a mandatory because of the franchise status, like Loma will most likely do with Devon Haney. My opinion. I think Haney presents real problems for Loma if they ever fight.

I think Haney beats loma. I see wilders reasoning saying it because fans don't give him credit for fighting Ortiz or fury, but the fact of the matter is his wbc mandatories have been poor and as stupid as that title is it enables you to fight whomever you want and if that's the best you're good.

Honestly the franchise title is more relevant for fighters attempting to compete in multiple weight classes. Heavyweight is a small pool at the top and big fights can be made.
