Here are your highlights. Slim pickings it has to be said. Against an opponent who's probably English title level on the basis of whats there.

Say what you want about the YouTubers, but the K'S I vs Login Paul match was a hell of a lot more exciting than the BUS fight.

Have to disagree with you there mate, we know how to beat Eubank now. Movement and jab. I think bjs makes it easy a second time. People (rightfully) knock billy, but what's Eubank really done since they fought? Feasted on the ghost of degale.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑10 Nov 2019, 04:30He’s fine against slow, limited boxers, A green Eubank jnr showed us BJS’ level. He puts in poor performances nearly every time with the occasional decent showing but which needs to be judged by the quality of oppositon.
The career big win which everyone raves about is David F**king Lemieux. I mean come on, who? Guy is good, has a cracking bit of power but we are not talking about a great fighter here. Ditto Andy Lee. Another really well schooled, good tough guy but ffs he got twatted by Chavez Jnr and bloody Brian Vera the first time.
Good opposition but also previously easily beaten.
BJS can box, he does have skills with no doubt but massively overrated on the back of an eye test against world class (but flawed world class) opposition.
Plus at the weigh in he looked complete fcking garbage. Soft as shite

Eubank fought Groves in the WBSS in an exciting fight and made a load of money,he is far more popular and well known then BJS and is rarely in a boring fight.BJS may well beat him easily if they fought again but that could be said about any fighter having rematches if they employ different tactics, the fact is they fought at Saunders true weight and it could have easily gone Eubank's way on the cards .Eubank beating DeGale is better than BJS picking up this vacant supermiddle title and then making a poor American debut.Steveh583 wrote: ↑10 Nov 2019, 05:05Have to disagree with you there mate, we know how to beat Eubank now. BJS and Fury are among our best technical boxers over here and i am losing interest in the two of them rapidly...

Ffs Jr's worst win post Saunders is better than his best win pre Saunders.
Jr has beaten plenty of decent fighters and has never looked bad let alone lost to am Akavov or this Argentine cabbie.
Saunders had looked utter shite @ 168, it's disgraceful that he can call himself a champion looking at who he has fought there.
Living off the Lemieux win big time that was 2 years ago now!!!!

As much as I‘ve never really rated Eubank Jr, I’d watch him over BJS every day of the week.

Boring style and an annoying personality - there is nothing he has which would make me turn on the telly, never mind staying up til 5 am - I would rather watch those youtoobers at handbags than Billy Jo Sanders...

How many more times can he get away with these below par performances. He's edged through far too many.
It's all very well banging on about wanting the big fight, but he isn't bringing enough to the table, and that is because he under performs so much. It's on a plate for him and he continues to waft along like a weak fart.
He's lucky that Hearn wanted him so badly.

Another far from stellar performance against a no-name. Saunders needs to save his career. He can perform better, but he fights C-level opponents, if not D-level ones, and he doesn't push himself to the limit of his abilities with such bouts.
Re: Billy Joe Saunders vs. Marcelo Esteban Coceres - 9 November 2019
It really does amaze me why , Warren , then Hearn , line up to throw money at this guy , he's got a bit of talent for sure , BUT he's in lacklustre fights , won't fight anyone with a pulse , and when he did it got tainted with drug cheat ,,, Why oh why do they make him rich

Re: Billy Joe Saunders vs. Marcelo Esteban Coceres - 9 November 2019
I've been a big fan of Billy Joe for years now, he's the boxer that I've spent the most money on tickets for - which is largely because he has usually fought in the East End which is convenient and it has been easy to get tickets for late on.
But by god has it been frustrating trying to support him. People say he needs to step up and that's probably true but in recent years I would have settled for him simply stringing a few wins together.
Since he beat Chris Eubank Jr, when I felt he was really going to kick on there has been-
About a year of inactivity before winning his title against Andy Lee.
He pulled out of his first defence against someone I can't remember the name of but it was supposed to be at the Copper Box.
The Akavov original event was cancelled late in the day and he fought him up in Scotland and was lucky to keep his title.
His mandatory Khurtsidze fought and beat Langford because Billy was trying to secure GGG fight.
GGG fight didn't happen.
Khurtsidze went to jail.
Billy moved to Ingle and then came the most promising part of his career, he beat Willie Munro Jr and David Lemieux in quick succession and a date for Martin Murray was announced for a few months after that. Murray wasn't a great opponent but he was finally looking like a world champion, confident and defending regularly.
Then Billy postpones Murray fight due to injury .
Cancels the postponed date for reason I can't remember.
Signs to fight Andrade - overcoming the apparent stumbling block of rival promoters - only for the fight to be cancelled due to a failed drugs test.
About 18 months after his best performance against Lemieux he fights Isufi in Stevenage. I know that event gets some stick but I went along and it was actually a pretty fun night with a decent feel in the crowd.
He then changes his promoter and has a 'gimme' ahead of big fights.
Last night watching that my heart was on the floor. I didn't think Billy could look that bad, he would have probably taken it on points however there's no doubt the stoppage saved him. It doesn't distract from him being really, really poor. His footwork was the only thing that he seemed to bother with.
I don't know if he was ill, injured, or if he didn't bother training. Or if it's more serious than that and the lack of fitness or age has caught up with him. But as someone who has followed him, and spent a not inconsiderable amount of money on supporting him, for the first time I wonder if he's missed his chance.
I know his stuttering career hasn't always been his fault but could it be a case of, after so many false starts, he has now missed the boat? Sincerely hope not.
Anyway, thanks for sticking with this, not sure what the point I'm trying to make is, or if I'm just getting something off my chest after years.
Oh, I know he rightfully gets some stick on here and elsewhere for his behaviour, but all the times I've met him and spoken to him he's been nothing but a gentleman and actually takes some interest and asks his 'fans' some questions. Thought I'd throw that in there

Deffo mate. Both of them are letting the prime of their careers float away down the crapper!

Fair dos to Saunders for not letting Cocares off the hook after hurting him for the first knockdown, the right uppercut for the second KD was class and he overwhelmed him for the finish but apart from that Saunders looked awful, I had it all square going into the 11th, I suppose Saunders always had the bit of quality in his punches but the way Coceres countered him with ease all night is worrying from Saunders POV, he couldn't miss with the right hand over Saunders jab, it looked easy for him to land it
Still Saunders pulled out the KO in the end so fair enough but close shave nonetheless but not impressed , he looks sluggish at the weight

It was a good stoppage but he shouldn't be going to the wire with this kind of challenger.handsofstone wrote: ↑10 Nov 2019, 10:42 Fair dos to Saunders for not letting Cocares off the hook after hurting him for the first knockdown, the right uppercut for the second KD was class and he overwhelmed him for the finish but apart from that Saunders looked awful, I had it all square going into the 11th, I suppose Saunders always had the bit of quality in his punches but the way Coceres countered him with ease all night is worrying from Saunders POV, he couldn't miss with the right hand over Saunders jab, it looked easy for him to land it

We have a grand total of 4 "world" champions and one of them fights in the USA and we have no round by round and one thread that has limped to almost three pages in 6 weeks. Says it all. Not even hardcore fans give a fck anymore
Re: Billy Joe Saunders vs. Marcelo Esteban Coceres - 9 November 2019
I should think he can't be far off being done , will never cut it at SM elite level and can't seeing him coming back down .
Biggest problem is he couldn't fill a church hall .
Maybe one big last payday , but out of the top fighters at the weight who would entertain it ? .
