Brit Bashers..

Post by Stuarty »

Was just thinking of the Canelo/Fielding shambles and realised he's beaten 5 of our boys (Rhodes, M.Hatton, Khan, L.Smith and Fielding).... Has anyone else battered as many Brits as Alvarez? I have a few names floating about my broken brain but i'm struggling to get them out... :maybe:

Remember the old French bloke who beat Charles Shepherd? I remember him coming over here and beating a few much younger Brits, although I don't recall the exact stats. It probably wasn't five to be fair.

Can't seem to place him mate although the name rings a bell. Remember a guy Kirakosyan (spelling) beating a few of our guys and also a dude Khomistky (spelling) who beat Jamie Moore and a couple of others. Sturm as well. Beat an injured Barker, Macklin (dodgy decision) and drew with Murray in a fight i had him winning...

I googled him, Affif Djelti. He beat four Brits - Charles Shepherd, Ian McLeod, Dean Pithie and Alex Moon from 2000-2001 when in his 40s. All in the UK too.

Think you are thinking of Affif Djelti - https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/6036.

There was a thread on this a while back - viewtopic.php?f=9&t=229680

Remember Sugar Boy Malinga fought quite a few Brits and beat a few. Sure he lost a dodgy decision against Benn and beat him in rematch. I remember when i was about 13 i was a fan of Robin Reid and he beat Reid for the WBC title. I think there were a few world title fights on that card. Winky Wright (who beat a few Brits I'm sure) was on the bill. Cards like that are a distant memory man!!

One of my heroes growing up was MAB. He beat a few of us didn't he? Remember him doing Ritchie Wenton early with a body shot. I'm sure that was on the BBC? Paul Lloyd as well... Took me a while to get over him beating Naz though even though i loved both of them

Munyai went on a good run a few years back, won three on the bounce over here.

Quigg smashed up a faded version of him years later but at the time I thought he looked very good, esp vs Power

Good shout. Maybe Saunders as well in the near future, although GGG has definitely slowed down recently. No guarantee he'd beat BJS..

Adam Smith whilst he was beating the shit out of Adrien Stone

' Whatever happens next, he wont be invited back to this country'

Ali Nuumbembe another one. I get that he was based over here for a bit and often booked as the ‘home’ fighter but he’s beaten plenty of Brits.

Probably out with the intent of Stuartys original post though
