Lee wins this one for me , great fight
Re: Lee McGregor vs. Kash Farooq - 16 November 2019
Nearly fight week. I'm out on Sat but can't wait to get home and get this on. I've changed my mind several times but i've not settled on Farooq on a close points win. Maybe a 115-113 type card....

I’m rooting for Farooq. I believe he can do it. Helluva fight. Can’t wait for it. I think it’s a real 50-50 fight. Respect both of them fighting each other early in their careers.Stuarty wrote: ↑10 Nov 2019, 16:35I had meant to say 'now' but i've nearly changed my mind againNah, I'm sticking with Farooq on points. What you think? This has went under the radar a bit! It's a smashing fight! Deserves far more publicity than its getting! Even the folk in the know on here don't seem that excited

Think I’m going to have a wee punt on Lee stopping Farooq in the last quarter of the fight. I’m really struggling to pick between them to be honest, I just have a wee thought that Lee could nudge ahead though selective pot shots from outside and force Farooq to chase it.Stuarty wrote: ↑10 Nov 2019, 16:35I had meant to say 'now' but i've nearly changed my mind againNah, I'm sticking with Farooq on points. No confidence in this tbh and could honestly flip a coin. It’s gonna be great though, can’t remember a fight other than Taylor Prograis that I’ve looked forward to more this year. It’ll certainly make up for this weekends filth!

My best mate is an ex pro and he now treats Kash in his profession. The way he talks of him makes me feel i need to love himRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑10 Nov 2019, 16:55I’m rooting for Farooq. I thought he could make Kash chase as well mate but he just seems to be improving fight by fight and i can't fault that! Kash head movement seems well ahead and very strong. He's a solid little fighter. I love this fight as a fan but i kinda wish it was just between us and nobody elsefizzjambo wrote: ↑10 Nov 2019, 16:58Think I’m going to have a wee punt on Lee stopping Farooq in the last quarter of the fight. Re: Lee McGregor vs. Kash Farooq - 16 November 2019
Cant wait for this one, biggest fight in Scotland for years, maybe since Buchanan/Watt, 2 unbeaten, British/Commonwealth, Glasgow/Edingburgh, its got all the ingredients to he a classic, I'd imagine McGregor is the more well known boxer in UK and the favourite but anyone whos seen Farooq knows he can box, I would've made McGregor fav last year, he's massive for the weight, can bang and has the pedigree
Farooq oozes class though I'm a huge fan, fair enough his opposition has been pretty poor as British champ in all honesty but from what ive seen I think he can make that step up, I actually think he looks technically better than McGregor, I think it'll be a bit of a firefight at times, McGregor likes a tear up and will bring the heat but I fancy Farooq to keep calm and cool to eek out a points win, may the best man win

Alex Arthur v Limond/Docherty/Burns we’re good East v West battles. I don’t think this is up there with those bouts though. Both these boys are still inexperienced but nonetheless it’s defo a cracking fight and hopefully it’ll live up to the hype.handsofstone wrote: ↑11 Nov 2019, 03:42 Cant wait for this one, biggest fight in Scotland for years, maybe since Buchanan/Watt, 2 unbeaten, British/Commonwealth, Glasgow/Edingburgh, its got all the ingredients to he a classic, I'd imagine McGregor is the more well known boxer in UK and the favourite but anyone whos seen Farooq knows he can box, I would've made McGregor fav last year, he's massive for the weight, can bang and has the pedigree

Cracking fight this. Really looking forward to it. Credit to both lads. Their first really solid test and big pressure for both of them.
Farooq’s explosive rise and the way he is cleaning out his British title level rivals reminds me of Ritson prior to his Euro title shot.
Boxing seems to really liven up toward Xmas.

Re: Lee McGregor vs. Kash Farooq - 16 November 2019
It’s the all-Scottish fight that has the whole of boxing talking – and here are the final presser quotes.
Commonwealth champion Lee McGregor (7-0, 6 KOs) and British bantamweight king Kash Farooq (13-0, 6 KOs) bring their belts to the table on the #MTKFightNight at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena – live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and on iFL TV worldwide.
The unification clash tops the bill, Kieran Smith (15-0, 7 KOs) defends his WBC International Silver title against fellow-unbeaten super-welterweight Vincenzo Bevilacqua (16-0), Tommy Philbin (12-0, 4 KOs) takes on dangerous Slovakian Nicolas Holcapfel (11-1, 9 KOs) and Paddy Donovan, Mark McKeown, Pierce O’Leary and Craig Morgan star on the undercard.
As they draw closer to slots on a colossal stage, challenges were laid down at an intense final press conference.
Here’s what they had to say…
MARK McKEOWN: “I believe this is what I was born to do and I’m really looking forward to making my debut on such a big stage.
“It’s great to see Scottish boxing on a high with Josh Taylor’s win and now this bill and I’m excited to be part of it.”
ANDY LEE: “We’re happy to be here in Scotland and we’d like to thank MTK Global and Top Rank. We’re looking forward the fight.
“Paddy has much more to show on Saturday night.”
PADDY DONOVAN: “My opponent Danny Mendoza is tough and strong but technically, I’m better than him.
“We’re moving well and we’re moving fast but it’s one fight at time. Andy is my manager so whenever he wants to move, we move.”
“There are some very good fighters in our stable and they train day in day out together. I believe Lee will be the bigger man, the stronger man in there on the night and win.”
KASH FAROOQ: “We never knew we were going to meet each other but now our paths has crossed and here we are.
“I won the British title outright so all that’s motivating me is winning this fight. Who’s the best in Scotland? Who’s the best in Britain? I’ll block everything out on the night and I believe I’ll come out victorious.”
LEE McGREGOR: “You have to switch off the friends mentality but it’s easy for the both of us to do it because we know what’s at stake. The winner has got some life-changing opportunities. Defeat is simply not happening.
“I believe people are underestimating my boxing ability. I travelled the world as an amateur and beat some of the best in the world. I can box. I can also fight. If the going gets tough, I can dig really deep. We’ll see what happens but I’m prepared for deep waters on Saturday.”

Top Rank’s Donovan: Now to wow great Scots
Paddy Donovan is eager to show off further facets of his talent on Saturday’s SOLD OUT show in Glasgow.
The gifted Limerick welterweight won 13 (thirteen) national titles as an amateur and snatched headlines with a ruthless debut stoppage win on the #MTKFightNight in Belfast last month.
Now as he heads for the undercard of the all-Scottish British & Commonwealth title showdown between Lee McGregor and Kash Farooq that has boxing talking, Donovan is hunting improvement.
Donovan, who is trained and managed by Andy Lee and promoted by US giants Top Rank, said: “I’m physically in great shape since my last fight and that has made things easier.
“We’ve been working on a lot of things and I’m doing all I can to improve my boxing skills. Everything Andy is teaching me I’m trying to perfect. We have a long road ahead but things are going well.
“Scotland is a great boxing country that has produce some great fighters down the years and that’s true of right now as well.
“I fought in Scotland back in 2011 and I’m looking forward to doing so again. I’ve heard it’s a great venue the Emirates Arena and I know it’s sold out so I’m pretty sure the fans will be electric on the night.
“I’ll be wearing my Celtic jersey when I land over there just to let them all know that the Irish Paddy has arrived!”
Joining Donovan and McGregor vs. Farooq on a firecracker of a bill is WBC International Silver champion Kieran Smith against unbeaten Italian Vincenzo Bevilacqua, Mark McKeown, Craig Morgan, Tommy Philbin, Pierce O’Leary and more.
