Usyk vs. Chisora for the WBO belt ?

Post by ValMar »

There is a solid possibility that Ruiz/Joshua winner will leave WBO title vacant. So, Usyk is the mandatory, and Chisora is #14 at WBO list. I suppose the lucrative fight might take place. What do you think ?

Why would Chisora get the chance ? Wouldn’t it be contested between the 2 highest rated boxers that are available?

I don't see that. Don't think it's a solid anything.

Last month Chisora was not even rated by the WBO.
I can't see it happening

I've seen some people call Usyk-Chis a 50/50 fight, anyone pick Chis?

If "the lucky punch" really exists, than Chisora has a slim chance.

I could see Dillian Whyte petitioning the Wbo to be reinstated in their ratings.
He was the #1 contender before Usyk moved up.
Usyk vs Whyte might be fun

I don't think anyone would complain if this happened.
Both are in house fighters for Hearn.
It's honestly the biggest heavyweight fight that is not involving Joshua, Fury or Wilder

Who would you pick? Maybe lean Whyte if you think Chis-Usyk is 50-50?

If that happened and Usyk beat him convincingly, I'd change my mind about Usyk at HW.

If Whyte is clean I'd pick Usyk
It's a toss up if Whyte is juicing

Great fight on paper. Usyk might need to fight somebody more dangerous then Witherspoon before a shot. Can't see them fighting for the WBO.

Why not fight Charr for his WBA "second but also a built in mandatory maybe"-belt? Or something. Can't real see him against Fury, since the politics and network stuff right now.

Winning a belt is cool, but winning a vacant cause of politics makes it more paper then taking it from a holder. Prestige in calling yourself champ is one thing but still means only more money in the pot.

Who do you actually favour Usyk over in BoxRec's top 15, since you have Chis-Usyk even money too

Anything less than winning a major belt is a failure at HW for USYK. So fvking around with Charr doesn't make sense to me.

Come on bruh, take a shot, would you pick him to beat anyone there?

Let's say Rivas, Pulev, Parker, Kow.....any of those?

My problem with Usyk is most of the forum points at his being elusive and massively skilled, but it took him six rounds to take over the Bellow fight and up until then he was getting hit pretty good at times. At HW he may not be able to afford six rounds.

Don't mind the forum, go with your gut, how does he fare vs those 4?

I think he can boxes two different styles depending on the opponent. He sometimes is go forward, in which he is sloppy and hittable, but he can choose to box on the backfoot and be less offensive vs more offensively dangerous opponents. In the WSB vs SHWs, he was a backfoot boxer mostly.

I would expect him to do well at HW---you say he's 50-50 vs Chis but to me that's easy work. I think he'll be at least a top 10 guy who is among the best outside the elite. At HW there really aren't many if any others with the mix of footwork, skill, stamina, and quickness
