Re: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua II - 7 December 2019
AJ was in shock, like a 4x4 pole had crashed through a plate glass window and slammed into his head, to coin a phrase.
I think if he manages to hurt Ruiz early, there’s no way he’s going to be following up with any conviction, not after last time ...
Houston’s thinking is that he handily won the first two rounds last time out, and his plan is going to be to do exactly the same for the next 10 rounds this time...

As soon as the rematch was confirmed, I had a feeling, AJ will fight the rematch how he fought Parker.
Boxing finesse he called it.
It's gonna be upto Ruiz to ruin the plans, to get inside if/when he can..
Parker tried to get on the inside with AJ, but the Italian ref ruinned that for him.
Hopefully the ref allows inside fighting in the rematch, whoever that will be.

I'd love for Joshua to do it but I don't see it. Whatever issues there were before and during the first fight, even if he has managed to deal with them he has to face the demons of being in with someone that he knows bashed him up. There was no luck involved. He hit Ruiz with booming shots and Ruiz's reaction was to throw 4 and 5 shots back and hurt him. I don't see him being able to really impose himself on Ruiz, he is likely to be more tentative and cautious and I don't think that will get the job done.

Re: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua II - 7 December 2019
I can see that Joshua was dazed in the last fight and he never truly recovered. The second knockdown in particular where he struggled to even get up. His legs where never right after those knockdowns. I can buy him some slack for that. He was in a deep pit with no real way out.
A lot of boxers will confirm that they have been buzzed to the point of sleep walking through a few rounds until their head clears again.
I don't know, Joshua should be beating this guy, but one thing I noticed is that Joshua doesn't lean away from punches, he soaks them up on a tight hand defense - If Ruiz can get inside again it's going to be another hard night.

Joshua is going to win this one relatively comfortably and make the doubters look silly.
Joshua by decision is available at 4/1. Great value.

I voted for Joshua to win via UD. If he keeps the distance and doesn't accept the browl, he can win. Of course Ruiz is a fast puncher and he got the power to end the bout in anytime...

It's strange.
Poll on the B&I section has Ruiz winning..
Poll on the CS section has AJ winning..
Are we on here being realistic, and just don't see how AJ can win.

I hope he loses. I can't stick the fakery anymore. He's decent to watch as a fighter but this price hike for ppv has put me firmly in camp Snickers....
There's rumours Haymon is considering pulling Ruiz out as well and they have paid someone to be on standby and be ready for the call apparently... Dunno how much truth is in that right enough. Probably a lot of Barry....

So this quote has the hallmarks of Ali with Foreman. A bit cringey as he's just not in that league, few are to be fair. To add to the cheese (assuming he wins) I can see him doing the angry Ali glove pointing at ringside too
''They think he's so great, so when I beat him I want everybody to bow to my feet and tell me how great I am."

It’s difficult to imagine Joshua losing again to Ruiz; he got caught and simply didn’t recover. It will be a safety first wide points win for Joshua.

MATCHROOM PARTNER WITH BOXPARK TO STAGE OFFICIAL RUIZ VS. JOSHUA 2 SCREENINGS

Matchroom Boxing are delighted to have partnered with Boxpark to stage two official screening events for the colossal Heavyweight World title rematch between Mexico’s Andy Ruiz Jr and Britain’s Anthony Joshua taking place on Saturday December 7.
Ruiz stunned Joshua to capture his IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO crowns in one of the biggest Heavyweight upsets of all time at a sold-out Madison Square Garden in New York on June 1. Joshua attempts to regain his World titles next month and become a two-time Heavyweight ruler after tasting defeat for the first time in his professional career on his US debut in The Big Apple.
For fans who can’t make it out to Saudi Arabia for the ‘Clash on the Dunes’, what better way to enjoy the most anticipated Heavyweight rematch in decades than with family, friends and a great atmosphere. Supported by JD Sports and StubHub – Matchroom will be staging the unmissable events at Boxpark Croydon and Boxpark Wembley.
Fight fans in attendance can expect live music, plenty of great food and drinks, as well as the chance to get hold of the official event programme. With Sky Sports in attendance and covering each screening as part of their live broadcast, these knockout events will offer the electric atmospheres we’ve come to expect from Anthony Joshua fight nights!
Eddie Hearn, Managing Director of Matchroom Boxing, said: “Of course, not everybody can get out to Saudi Arabia for the fight – so we wanted to create something for the fans which would be an exciting alternative. We’ve seen before the popular fan parks which come with big football tournaments and matches, and we felt that this fight is on the same level and deserved something special as ‘AJ’ bids to become a two-time World Champion and win his titles back!”
Tickets start at just £10 and will be on sale at 2.00pm on Tuesday November 19 via StubHub on this link.

As was the 1-2-1 interview with Joshua.
The only decent feature they have made so far is the one on the last fight which has no commentary
