Well, John Ryder came in to fight 100% ready and 100% hungry. He turn his short height and reach into the advantage over tall oponent. On the other side, Smith did almost everything wrong. Some good jabbing, but you cannot win elite fight with just jab. His clinching was so ineffective. If you can clinch right way, you can take a lot of steam from such a short oponent. Plus, everyone know uppercut is your friend against short boxer. Smith did not used any uppercut, instead of that, he missing wild hooks in short range. If judges give this to Smith, it would be robbery

At least when Richie Woodhall ‘decisioned’ Glenn Catley back in the day, he was honest enough to admit he didn’t do enough to win the fight.

Close fight (I had Ryder by 1) but 117-111 to Smith is ridiculous.

It's not Smith winning that bothers me, it's the sense of inevitability, the wideness and Terry O'Connor.
If Smith nicked a close one, fine - but that stinks.

Close fight but 9 - 3 is a disgrace. I am getting fed up with some of these scorecards.

That far pudendum O’Connor gave Ryder 3 rounds? He won the last 3 rounds at least.

Smiths a deluded gimp. Talking down Ryder. What an arse.

Never been sold on Smith and this doesn't change my mind. Hopefully some of the hype dies down about him now.

You'd have to fancy Saunders against him.

Ryder is the most robbed british boxer of 21th century. with Saunders (though that fight was pretty even) and clearly Arnfield, Fielding and now this
