Every week people are outraged when a close fight doesn't go the way they wanted it to. People want the Hearn guy to lose so bad it clouds their judgement.

This. It was a close fight either way. Plenty of close rounds.
If it was a close fight why were the score cards so wide?
You'll have to ask the judges that one I'm afraid.

There were 5 clear rounds for Ryder in that fight so any scores where smith won by more than 7-5 are laughable.

The 9-3 one is a disgrace.

7-5 is right.

Organizers should've saved money and had Adelaide Byrd judge remotely. Couldn't be much worse.
Yes. scores that wide gives the feeling it was preordained.

Commentator Andy Clarke attempts to justify it by telling us the judges were very consistent and are the paid professionals.

Gutting for Ryder, he fought the fight of his life he made his disadvantages work for him, his tactics were perfect, get up close under the long leavers of Smith and get to work, spot on, as I say battered Smith on the ropes, hook around the side, uppercuts through the middle, banging to the body and just generally outworking and outhustling Smith, I thought hus defence was top drawer, great head movement , judgement of distance and he made Smith look wild at times and its not very often you see Smith flustered, Smith looked like he was starting to get to grips in the later rounds but Ryder finished like the winner for me
Nice one mate :TU:
Pretty much my summation too.
Gorilla gave it everything, solid gameplan and executed almost perfectly- that to me, is the most dissapoining aspect of the result for John.

The cards themselves went beyond robbery into the realms of parody.
As I said I had Ryder winning it myself but if Smith would have edged it in a SD I don't think you'd see the type of outrage that you are seeing now, the cards make a generous decision look like a disgraceful one.
The cards were a disgrace, the decision was merely generous.

The last 4 rounds were clearly for Ryder, the opening rounds were tough to score but the fact the scores were so wide ticks me off !

If you think Paul Ryder won that then you don't understand how to score.

2nd round was close, that could make it 115-113, but 116-112 was probably right.

JR won his rounds clearly I think 7 9 11 12.

CS won a lot of rounds jabbing JR just amassing scoring points. It was not pretty but those shots count.

On a positive note it was a pretty absorbing fight and more competitive than most were expecting.

TBH I didn't think it was a particularly good fight but seeing Ryder have that kind of success made it absorbing, as bad as social media can be its a good gauge as to how a fight should be scored or at least who should've won, back in the day we had our opinion, judges and commentary, that was it nowadays even if I watch a fight and agree with the result and the TVs analysis, if I come on here and see most people have it the other way, then you do start to wonder, in saying that I always stand by my poo scores :box:

Some people don't like successful people, others don't care for his attitude and others just like seeing the favourite lose.

And others like to see justice done .
I wanted the underdog to win , I'll grant you that , but I'm not a hater of Callum and he always comes across really well to me and hasn't really put a foot wrong in his boxing career , but he lost the fight to me and the Bs scorecards proved there was an incorrect decision .
