For the vacant WBA Super Featherweight title on the undercard of the Wilder/Ortiz rematch, Santa Cruz aiming to become a 4 weight world champion, pretty incredible achievement for a guy whos arguably only shared the ring with 2 bona fide world class fighters in Frampton and Mares, his career bores the tits off me TBH, his stock was high after the winning the Frampton rematch but apart from the Mares rematch win has been either inactive or fighting gash

Don't know much about Flores, looking through his record , his 2 losses were stoppages including a cut loss to Avalos. who funnily enough Santa Cruz beat up recently, should be another good chance for Santa Cruz to pick up another title and avoid a unification

It's hard to think of a big name (ish) fighter who interests me as little as LSC. It's nearly 3 years since the Frampton rematch and what has he done since.

LSC and Gary Russell practically killed the FW division with inactivity and lack of ambition. Thank Christ for Josh Warrington.

So disappointing the way LSC has gone about his career, his all-action style combined with monster punch output could have made for some classic encounters with other champions/top contenders but since Frampton there's been basically fcuk all

Another snoozer from Santa Cruz I thought, I had him winning 117-111 but it wasn't vintage stuff, Flores troubled him with his movement and he landed some hard looking shots to the body, I thought he finished the fight in decent form as well, overall though Santa Cruz was the better man, busier, controlled ring centre and got home the more effective punches, as I say not a great fight to watch and the rounds were close , there wasn't too much in most of the rounds to split them , most of them just played out in similar fashion, Santa Cruz never looked like stopping Flores despite Sky getting a bit excited in the middle rounds, the ref was a bit harsh with the point deduction to Flores as well for holding, cant remember him getting a stern warning before, still Santa Cruz got the job done, just hope to see him in a decent match up

True, but there was potential before the loss to Frampton. Since the rematch LSC and his team are not taking any risks. Leo lost something during the two Frampton fights and has been vulnerable ever since. A vacant belt against boxrec 100+ ranked guy
He talked the big talk after the fight, I don't buy it at all. Expect another paper record opponent defence..

Yeah he’ll probably sit on the title rather than try to unify. A monster at bantam but I think he would get smashed by the likes of Davis or Berchelt.
