Which HW Prospect Finally makes some noise in 2020?

Post by oogiebe »

So the new year is coming up fast. We've had more than our share of threads on the HW prospects. Which one do you think will make the biggest splash in 2020? How do you see the year of the prospects unfold?

:maybe:

I'm guessing Jalo is going for the Olympics hence won't do much as a pro next year

I was thinking that after he poleaxed that american. I hope he doesn't do that though. Master Sulaiman won't be happy.

NOTE: I've purposefully excluded Joe Joyce. First he's too old to be a developing prospect, and secondly, at this stage he'll get exposed the first time he fights a good counter-puncher.

I'll go with Hrgovic. I think Matchroom will match him more ambitiously this year!!

Depends how high he steps up, I'm not impressed but there still probably aren't that many guys who would level him.

I like Dub the most long-term on the list

He probably beats a few guys on the list, but he may be more of a contender now.

Jarrel Miller makes some noise next year, though it's most likely flatulance.

I voted for DDD.
There are 3 on the list I believe have the potential to make a splash next year.
Dubois probably has the backing to get the fights that will make a splash, as well as the potential.
So I voted for him as the most realistic candidate.

Should a world-rated fighter that has never been granted a shot at facing any legitimate current world champion or even an opportunity to challenge for a genuine vacant world title, with only one early career loss on their record (that happened four years ago), be considered a prospect?

If so, then the poll is clearly missing a big name that is likely to make an impact during 2020.

At least four guys on the poll are already officially classed as legitimate sanctioned world title contenders by the main four governing bodies, so it seems rather odd to exclude one obvious big name from this poll.

How many heavyweights fit all the criteria I’ve specified?

Let’s test your knowledge, because the answer seems rather obvious.

I've left no one out as I included who I wanted to in the poll. Why did you add "At least four guys on the poll are already officially classed as legitimate sanctioned world title contenders by the main four governing bodies, so it seems rather odd to exclude one obvious big name from this poll." as you didn't have it in your original post?

I edited my post at the same time as you responded to it. Check the timelines.

And I added that extra point to illustrate the fact that you regard contenders as prospects, which further illustrates the flaw in your poll (especially in reference to Whyte).

You also excluded Joe Joyce, who has had less fights than Efe Ajagba.

Make your own poll then. Whyte is clearly not a prospect. Stop being a c$nt.

Alright then, what is your definition of a prospect (if you’re including sanctioned world title contenders)?

And why have you excluded Joe Joyce, when he’s had fewer fights than Efe Ajagba?

Read the thread. It's already been addressed. If you don't like it. Get off the thread.

Your poll includes a fighter in their thirties.
